First of all, that full article on NPR's site doesn't mention anything about the Transformers 3 trailer and therefore Armstrong isn't reacting to it at all. The subject of this post is horribly misleading. Secondly, those "impossibilities" are easily explained by a simply plot device already set up by the previous movies. Megatron was buried under the Hoover Dam when it was constructed between 1931 and 1936. The moon walk didn't occur until 1969. Which means they had been studying Megatron for almost 40 years. All that stuff was classified, so the space suits coolant systems are define by Armstrong for public knowledge as it is stated above, but in actuality they were modified by something the reverse engineering of Megatron help create. Hence, during the blackout they could get farther away from the lander without the public wondering how. In the land of movies, there are no impossibilities because of suspension of disbelief.
