There is at least one thing Bush accomplished: he has kept the US a safe place since 9/11. I doubt Obama will be able to do the same with a quick closure of Guantanamo, a quick withdraw from Iraq, his issues with international wiretapping and his no-precondition policy. All it takes to become painfully clear what Bush did offer is a new strike in the US. But no doubt the leftist loonies would blame Bush for it...

I doubt many people can give 5 names right away (except for the Swedes themselves and close neighbours), but i don't get what point you're trying to make with it. Concerning hard-drives: the industry standard is that if you overwrite everything 7 times, the stuff that was on it before isn't retrievable any longer. There is software that does it for you. Might come in handy, especially since people don't like buying smashed hard drives. ;)

only thing we see on the US are: - theodore roosevelt: speak softly and carry a big stick - FDR: new deal - woodrow wilson (league of nations or however it is called) - struggle between USA and USSR during cold war imo, not bad considering it is a foreign country. on a different continent. most things are just knowledge obtained due to interest in why the USA was able to grow like no other. it would be very healthy if some people (libs, socialists etc) would actually do the same.

Aren't you mixing up federalism with confederalism? Confederalism departes from the states and they choose what to do together. Federalism departs from the top level and leaves some things it can't or won't do to the states (something they aren't eager about, since that means giving their grasp on power away to others. or is this another example of how definitions are different on the other side of the ocean? :)

Don't take that for granted too easily, politicians never stand up to take responsability. If we want it to become clear, a decent case will have to be built over the next 2-4 years against every issue the dems got up. Someone will have to hold them clearly accountable for it to happen at all.
