First thoughts as of 27 March 2009

1.Make EVERY ELECTED OFFICIAL READ The 5000 Year Leap so they understand what they are supposed to do as elected officials!
2.Set Term Limits for Elected Officials in Washington: This was NEVER meant to be a life time career by the Founding Fathers, and they warned against the financial benefits making people lose sight of their proper and CONSTITUTIONAL jobs…
a.2 TERMS (6 years/term) maximum for the SENATE
b.3 TERMS (2 years/term) maximum for the House of Representatives
3.LIMIT the amount candidates can spend for campaigns to a “reasonable” amount so anyone (not just millionaires) can compete for elected office.
4.Tell the TRUTH when you say things to the American People. HONESTY is the best policy.
5.Eliminate Congress’s ability to give themselves raises or other “perks”.
6.Congress and ALL other Government officials needs to be required to do the same thing they expect everyone else to do:
a.NO travel by private or government jets on the taxpayer money.
b.Pay into the Social Security Fund from their salaries
c.NO unnecessary travel under the guise of “official business” …
d.NO 5 star hotels, limos and first class flights when traveling on the taxpayer money
e.PAY THEIR TAXES
7.LIMIT the amount elected officials can accept from lobbyists.
a.This would allow Congress to ACT FOR THE PEOPLE instead of the UNIONS, INSURANCE, PHARMICEUTICAL etc industries
8.Require ALL Representatives and Senators to READ ALL bills completely BEFORE they vote on them, and sign off that this is done BEFORE they vote.
9.Require both the Legislative and Executive members of the government to FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION in all their decisions.
10.Do NOT allow CONGRESS to use EARMARKS. Instead, create SEPARATE BILLS for any thing that is wanted for an individual (Representative or Senator) to be given as a specific bill – NO MORE HIDING THINGS IN BILLS AT THE LAST MINUTE.
11.FIX the Health Insurance debacle, but NOT with a GOVERNMENT RUN program, but rather by reining in the out of control insurance industry and pharmaceutical industry (This can be done by eliminating or significantly limiting the amount of $$$ that can be given to elected officials by lobbyists so they are not beholden to these industries.)
12.STOP allowing Congressmen and Senators to receive lifelong health care for FREE.
13.STOP allowing Congressmen and Senators to receive their salary for FREE after they retire…
14.Make Congress use the SOCIAL SECURITY program like the average American, including their participation while an elected official.
15.Do NOT allow the government to PRINT more MONEY without OPEN discussion and time for citizens to make their voice heard.
16.Take care of our VETERANS:
a.Make the salaries for our VOLUNTEER military high enough to give these patriots a LIVING WAGE for themselves and their families.
b.Give excellent medical care to our wounded vets provided by the federal government.
17.STOP giving “BAIL OUT” money to companies who have been unsuccessful UNLESS:
a.The CEO and the BOARD OF DIRECTORS of these same companies are made to resign, or better yet, are sued for malfeasance and tried...if found guilty in court, they should GO TO JAIL.
b.It is determined that NO ONE in Congress has been involved with these companies (in any way) such as on the Board, giving help through earlier Earmarks or submitting bills in Congress on their behalf.
c.No bonus money should be given to employees in any company ACCEPTING BAIL OUT MONEY when that company fails to make a profit.
18.Make the Federal government FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION and the LAWS of the land already on the books.
19.Make the JUDICIAL BRANCH of the government FOLLOW the CONSTITUTION and stop being ACTIVISTS and “interpreting” laws in such a way that OBVIOUSLY changes the INTENT of the Founding Fathers.
20.Require states to have another election when there is a result too close to call for elected officials (i.e. Minnesota’s and Illinois’s situation for SENATE seats… it is obvious that the current system does NOT work.)

GOD HELP THE USA if Tim Geithner's request to Congress is granted. The CONSTITUTION is being trampled by so many other things, but THIS would be the start of the absolute end to our CAPITALISTIC society. Grant them this and they will take away the rights of all of us.

I have already written to my OH Senators and Representatives telling them of my feelings of just how terrible this idea is, but EVERYONE needs to do the same thing so all our Congressional people, elected by the people, actually hear us and PAY ATTENTION and do the right thing.

It seems the White House and Congress either have no idea what is written in our precious CONSTITUTION or don't give a darn about it and only care to take over the government. In either case, it is scary as hell.

Card Check is a TERRIBLE idea. The secret ballot is VERY AMERICAN and taking it away and having the unions "win over" employees by using this technique to turn ANY BUSINESS into a union company will force owners (both small and large) of businesses to close their doors when Union demands make them unprofitable JUST LIKE WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN DETROIT. This will put MORE people out of work and make the recession deeper and longer. PLEASE call and write your Congressmen and women (botht he House and the Senate) AND the PRESIDENT to make them SEE THE LIGHT and vote NO on this issue before it is ANOTHER American RIGHT taken away from all of us...

Cap and Trade is absolutely a horrible idea at any time, but especially during this terrible economic recession in the USA. This tax would be IMMORAL and endanger businesses and indivuduals even more than all the other insane ideas coming out of this Administration and the people in Congress who live in "La La Land".
