I've called on many congressman myself the past week All out of state, because mine, Ron Paul is voting against this socialism.
Most are not set up to take in much input and don't really care. I got mostly busy signals or no answers. One of the few answers I got, the clerk ask me where I was from and told me to talk with my congressman, that they were not my representative.
So since the lawmakers will not listen, I propose that pressure be put on those that will be responsible for enforcing these laws. The local police and any police authority. Call them, talk to them in the street, at the mall, at the game, and tell them how unhappy you are. Do it politely. It will feel good to show them the international symbol of love, but don't do it. When the guys and gals with the guns that are going to have to force this socialism upon us get a better idea of how ugly it is going to be, then they will start putting pressure on the lawmakers. The lawmakers will listen, just like you and I will to those with the guns.

I found that with a few exceptions they are set up to NOT listen to anyone. One that did answer even told me that since I was out of state and not represented I should call my own congressman. Most had full mail boxes or busy signals. Most web sites/email forms will not allow you to send a comment unless you put in an address within their district.
So I have a proposal for all. Since the lawmakers will not listen we should start putting pressure on those who will be responsible for enforcing their will. Talk to every policeman you can find and tell them how unhappy you are. Call your local popo office and let them know. Do it politely even though you may want to show them the international symbol of love and shout loving blessings upon them. When they guys with the guns that will have to help enforce the laws that are going to support this start to figure out just how bad it is, then they will start putting pressure on the law makers.
