I have had the issue of trying to convince a dispatcher that there really was an emergency (fire, in my case). He did have insurance, and while his out of pocket expense was still very high, he immediately recognized the importance of medical insurance at any age. He's back at his life, but never without health insurance, and anxiously awaiting 2014 when pre-existing conditions can't preclude coverage.
