As someone with opposing views to probably 99% of the folks on this site, I would just like to say thank you to the individuals that actually debate a topic with me instead of name calling and calling me "un American" or telling me to "GET A CLUE" or "WAKE UP". I would really be interested to find a site that allows people of all different views to debate topics without the annoyance of childish name callers, anyone know of one? Thanks in advance.
While I appreciate the fact that you are submitting opposing views on this site to better the over all debate in this country, yeah, name calling not such a good way to represent your views.
Where did you find this story? It doesn't jive with anything anything anyone else in the world has stated, including the Captain of the Bainbridge, so I just curious as to where it came from. Thank you.
The reason I stay is because I actually want to know what this is all about. Just as you would want an honest debate, so would I. So when I see things that I believe are disengenuous, I feel it is my responsibility to speak out against it, just as I would expect you to. I'm not really trying to provoke anger or hatred and apoligize if I do that, but I feel just as strongly about my beliefs as you do about yours and I like to have serious discussions with people of opposing views because everyone is better off when they do that.
What a thought provoking, insightful statement. Boy, I sure learned something from you there. Keep up the good work of trying to better our society through intriguing debate.
There is an easy way to fix that, vote for someone else.
I know what Jesus would do! He would throw out all the money changers, the people that run banks, then He would forgive them for their sins. He would also berate and forsake all rich people as they are just as likely to get into heaven as a camel has a chance of getting through the eye of a needle. Jesus would rise the poor up as his most holy diciples and wonder what America has been doing this whole time forsaking those who need the most. I know this could be construed as over the top, but I firmly believe that Jesus cries over the fact that so many rich live off the poor. My plug for today is to help build a house with Habitat for Humanity for somoen. God bless.
Where does everyone believe the term "arms" ends? Machine guns? Grenades? Missiles? Nuclear Weapons? Satellite based super lasers? NEUTRON BOMBS?!?!?!?! But seriously, where do folks stand on this?
What may be scary to you is perfectly reasonable change for other people. I appreciate the fact that you want to change things through the only proper American way, by voting. The whole idea of our politcal process is to get like minded individuals in positions of power to advance an agenda you believe in. I actually love the fact that we have rival politcal parties, its a great way to keep each other in check. Neither side is right all the time, heck, both sides are probably wrong most of the time, but everyone does what they think is best for the country and that is what makes this the greatest country in the entire world.
