I didn't know people were carrying around swords still. Either way, I'm glad he's not my neighbor.

Hey I think your caps lock got stuck on. Might want to try getting it unstuck so your comments are less annoying.

Must be so awesome to be perfect... I hope your perfection never fails, because it only takes one time for a tragedy.

I wasn't blaming the parents or anyone for that, I was stating the obvious. It's impossible to monitor kids on ATVs short of following the kids or hiding in a tree with binoculars. On the roads, they're in plain view - so I was attempting to make a point to TEK that ATVs and cars are not the same.

I blamed no one. I was simply saying it was unfair to compare it to driving a car, as a lot more restrictions are put on driving. I surely wouldn't blame the parents for their losses - it's very tragic. I do not place blame, but that doesn't mean that we can't learn from tragedies such as this, and have other kids wear helmets or other protective gear that may save lives, maybe have them slow down a bit...

At least we require drivers education for them to get a license to drive a car. And they have penalties if they are caught speeding or driving recklessly. In an ATV, no one is monitoring these kids while they're out in open country with nothing to protect them. Therefore I see where Ashthecat3 is coming from, and it isn't quite the same as a car. Regardless, this is a very sad loss. Condolences to both boys families.

Oh, very intelligent point. plus1 for you. (even if you were threatening to drink Drano a few mins ago)

You can if you want to, but the intended purpose of the Drano is right on the bottle with instructions of use. Along with a big warning about not consuming it.

When did Olav get a sidekick? I must've missed something.

Not at all. But if it's not easily available on store shelves, and there are consequences to using it, it'll lower the number of kids using it. If it's legal and in stores, people are going to use it instead of weed (maybe even believing it must be safe) and it sounds like some dangerous stuff. Just because mu rders still happen, doesn't mean it shouldn't be illegal. There are needed laws for safety, and there will always be people who break them.
