Big Hollywood : In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Many years ago, I purchased a book he co-wrote. It was "Hollywood, Interrupted", and it was one of the most entertaining books I'd ever read. My condolences to the extended Breitbart family...May God help them through these times. R.I.P Andrew Breitbart...

Arch-nemesis Andrew Klavan? I know he wrote some pieces for this site, so is that a nickname amongst friends, or is there animosity between you and Andrew?

Big Hollywood : Here We Go Again: Oscar Hopeful 'My Week with Marilyn' Slammed as Inaccurate

"Fahrenheit 9/11" wasn't nominated for Best Documentary. The movie that won was a documentary called "Born Into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids". I just stick to fictional material. If I go for non-fiction, it's usually just a concert movie, but you don't really see those around nowadays.

Big Hollywood : Michael Moore Desperately, Flailingly, Shamelessly Denies He Is the '1 Percent'

I don't trust anything Moore says. I never have. It's been proven time and again on many different websites that he's a liar and a manipulator. He just strikes me as a very unpleasant and abrasive individual who won't even give one inch to anyone on the right. It doesn't matter what kind of conservative they are. Paleo, neo, Reagan celebrant, Romney supporter, Paul booster...Why doesn't he show respect to those who disagree with him? John Nolte celebrates Moore's films (I'm not sure why, though). Do you think that Moore would say anything nice about Nolte?

Big Hollywood : Gene Simmons: Obama 'Unqualified,' Gov. Rick Perry Will Win in 2012

One can only hope that other conservative celebrities who either voted for Obama (like Bo Derek, for example) or have said positive things about him (like Angie Harmon and Elisabeth Hasselbeck) even though they didn't vote for him, will drift back to the right. Will it happen? I don't know, but I would hope so. Obama promised change, but that change was for the worse. To think that many on the right fell for Obama's hype is very distressing. The proof of Derek's drift to the left in 2008 is here: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/sleuth/2009/01/o...

Big Hollywood : Could Mila Kunis Be a Sign of Hollywood Hope and Change?

If the 2012 elections see her supporting candidates who aren't on the Left, then I'll feel that she deserves praise. Until then, I don't see how making one anti-Communist statement or accepting an invitation to a military ball makes her somebody for conservatives and libertarians to rally behind.

Big Hollywood : Hollywood Hoping for Obama, The Sequel

I'm interested in hearing about who will be endorsing which candidates are running for the 2012 GOP nomination. Several contenders have already thrown their hats in the ring...I'd like to see who will be backing them up, although that probably won't happen for a while yet. Still, it's something I'm eager to hear about...

When I was in high school, the show was in reruns on Bravo. I enjoyed watching those, and I wish the reruns could still be airing. How is it that the bleak and grimy "Roseanne", the first season of which overlapped with the last season of "Moonlighting", is still showing in reruns, but this exciting and colorful show isn't?

Big Hollywood : A Brief History of Disneyland, An American Classic

I've been a Disney fan for a long time now, but I often wonder how Walt, who was by most accounts a conservative fellow, would feel about the fact that Michelle Obama has appeared on a network named after him to shill her youth health program. I also recall that when Bill Clinton was inaugurated back in 1993, the old school Disney Channel had a concert with young entertainers to celebrate his entry into the Presidency. They didn't do that for George W. Bush, but then again, neither did any other channel directed at a young audience.

Unfortunately, according to his brother in this obituary, Silver drifted back to the left in 2008 and voted for Obama: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/16/movies/16silver... I don't trust the credentials of anybody who dubs themselves to be a conservative, but then votes for a man like Obama. I only hope that those who praise Silver as a great conservative will find out that he voted for Obama.

It wasn't even 2 months ago when there was an article on here celebrating Titus' charity work: http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/ckozlowski/2011... In the end, I'm not suprised.
Big Hollywood : Do Politics Drive Hollywood's Slow Response to Heartland Disasters?

I've noticed that for a while now, and it is rather odd. I'd like to see a Comic Relief telethon being done now, for example, but I have a feeling that we won't see another one of those until a Republican gets into office. You can pick when you can do a fundraiser, but if you're going to do one, could you make an effort to do it no matter who the president is?

Even Stevie Wonder in a blackout during a lunar eclipse on the Winter Solstice could see that this marraige was eventually going to end.
Big Hollywood : Comedy Central Continues to Censor 'South Park'

This has irritated me for a long time. They had to censor this episode, but there was a 2006 episode "Cartoon Wars, Part 2". It also had to have an image of Muhammad eliminated, but Comedy Central had no problem with showing the Muslims' retaliation cartoon, which featured Jesus Christ defecating on the American flag. The moral of that episode when it came to humor was that either all of it was okay, or none of it was. I guess we know where Comedy Central stands on that one.

Big Hollywood : Hipster Irony Alert!: Watch Stephen Colbert Celebrate Results of Cheney's 'Secret, Lawless Assassina

According to this obituary, Silver returned to the left in the final presidential election of his life and voted for Obama: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/16/movies/16silver.... If that has anything to do with this discussion of Colbert's words, it's that many people tend to be inconsistent. They'll change their minds at the drop of a hat and whipsaw through different positions to the point where you no longer know where they stand.

Big Hollywood : Video: Comedian Explains Why You Can't Mock Obama

I think I bought this up before, but I think I should bring it up again. I find myself remembering a message board I was on many years ago. Bush had been elected, and I saw that shows like "Saturday Night Live" were tossing hateful words at Bush and his crew. People were saying to me that shows like SNL go after both sides. That may be true in theory, but off-camera, whether it's through political campaign donations or press interviews, they almost always stated a fervent disdain for Bush and Republicans in general. I offered up examples of how these entertainers disdained Republicans, but nobody agreed. A decade later, things haven't changed. Obama gets a gentle tap on the shoulder...Palin gets a brass-knuckled punch in the face. Why?

I vote for "Field Of Dreams" as well. Maybe it's because I lost my dad at a young age, but that movie speaks to me regarding what I wish I could've done with my dad. I was never much of an athlete, but I did like a lot of the same music my dad did (classic rock, primarily), so I would've liked to discuss that more with him.
