Smith may be a Republican now, but what will he be tomorrow? In 1999 he ran against Bush. His candidacy did not pick up much ground which means he wasn't that impressive in the first place. He decided to leave the Republican Party and seek a nomination with the U. S. Taxpayers Party. One month later he swore off the Taxpayer Party and decided he was an Independent. His candidacy went nowhere so he withdrew and backed Bush. Then Senator Chaffee died and Smith recanted his repudiation of the Republican Party and was stupidly appointed to Senator Chaffee's position on the Committee on Enviroment and Public Works. In 2002 Smith was defeated by Sununu and denied re-nomination. After that he decided he would sell real estate in Florida. How many times will he change his mind if he is elected? He don't even know.
