I strongly suspect that I would rather be imprisoned in Italy than in the US.. but maybe that's too many Hollywood movies speaking. Personally, I think it's unfortunate that it's garnered quite so much media attention - I've never been a fan of trial by media, and I would rather let responsible experts, lawyers, judges and (where applicable) juries decide based on the evidence. There are far too many people who assume they have all the facts and consider themselves worthy of passing judgment (a rule of thumb being that it's most often those who consider themselves best suited for a position of power and influence who are least suited).

My advice to all is to sit back and let the system work, and hope, like always, that the truth is uncovered and justice is served.

This article makes it sound like some US prime time crime TV show! I'd treat such statements with a grain of salt, as I believe they're trying to appeal to peoples stereotypical views.

What is it with people who think that justice will only be served in their own country? This isn't the third world, and the various justice systems within the EU countries, at least, are well established and should be considered fair and just, not disregarded off-hand because they're unfamiliar or because of stereotypes.
