I have read the book and I've even taken a Big Mind seminar and have several DVDs on the process. I've never felt so calm and peaceful and fearless as when I was at the seminar. So centered and confident. So spacious and alive. So grounded and open. I highly recommend it to everyone!!!
I'm sorry to hear that Chris as I have greatly enjoyed your comments. Good luck to you and yours!
I was also at that event in Seattle in 2008. It was one of the most profound experiences of my life. Genpo was amazing (although I never heard him swear!) I too can't recommend Big Mind enough and I think it best for a first-timer to go to a seminar to really get "it".
Great Note Brian! I've never read this and like you and others here I was taken a little aback by the title. I really, really resonated with the idea that is is our moral obligation to get rich! This note really helped me shift my perspective and see that playing small wasn't serving anyone! Making the most of myself, giving the most of myself, it makes so much sense! And of course, more wonderful words on gratitude were very welcome to hear. Thanks guys!
The main points I got out of this were "Quit arguing with reality" and "Other people aren't thinking about you". Thanks to Brian and Vishen for another great Note!
I still integrating yesterday's book(!) but the main point I got out of the 7 Habits was to say no when I need to. I tend to say yes to avoid trouble pretty regularly and I don't like myself when I do it. Knowing my highest principles is another action I really haven't taken yet. But one of my main issues is being response-able, being able to choose how I respond to a situation. Every day when I get in a car I find myself griping about how others drive, over and over again. This I vow to nip in the bud starting today!
