does unlocking and jailbreak with redsn0w 0.7.2 do well for my 2G iPhone? I've used that version of redsn0w to 3.0.1 and as instructed used 3.0 ipsw, but somehow applications like backgrounder, aptbackup, insomnia, cannot run.

As for the latest version (0.8), after entering DFU mode, redsn0w started the jailbreaking process but then the program terminated somehow and don't know why. I'm using Vista Home Premium by the way. Why is that?
