I have a mixed household as well. Wife and kids still on Windows 7 and I made the switch. First with a Mac Mini next to my Windows 7 laptop and now iMac only. And then a Windows Home Server (first v1, now WHS 2011).
I'll try to upgrade the Mac Mini to Lion as well (will require a bit of a hack) would be interested if the Mini Lion Server could use the shares of the WHS, so also on the server side best of both worlds.

You'll read about where to find the Lion dmg file in http://osxdaily.com/2011/06/08/create-burn-bootab...
I understand the package is removed from disk after installation of the OS, so you'll have to re-download from the AppStore. Before the OS installer is started, follow the steps in the link above.
I had access to the gold master dmg to solve my problem.

I have this running in my new WHS 2011 now for a week or so and everything seems very happy.
I had a 500GB Seagate Momentus 7200.4 lying around so bought a second one of those. Install was easy and it just works.
Still trying to figure my mail alert settings, probably just some sill SMTP setting I have wrong.
Let's hope it really works when it's needed. One of those insurance policies you wish you never need.

So you're making people hungry, but not tell them when it's feeding time or what it's going to cost. Great marketing (not).

2 WD Green EARS 2TB (plus a few EADS's) in my SQA-5H. All fine after jumper install. I had one problem installing a new one 2 weeks ago, but it was the drive that was shot. A replacement (thanks Amazon) works like a treat.

Not good for those that paid for the product (like me).

I have a Wifi device from day 1 and am very happy with ease of use. How about a device that does 80% of what I do on my laptop (email, facebook, video, simple web, ...) but boots in 1 sec and I can carry wherever I am. I'll probably upgrade to the 3G version (and give this one to a colleague) but it's a great device

I've had issues as well with the SQA-5H SATA card and power (rush power and power supply). Worked out after shipping the unit back. Took a few weeks though.
This new thing seems like just another eSATA card they found. Wouldn't know if that's worth an additional £90 (+ £40). Seems like a very expensive card.
Would the little ATOM chip be up to 20TB? If I see how much time the chip now uses "searchindexer-ing" and "demigrator-ing"....

The drive caddies also seem interchangable with the ones of the SQA-5H.
I have 5TB in the SQA-5H and 3TB waiting for a "home", so this may be interesting.

I bought the 3 yr license a year ago, so still have 2 yrs to go. Hope they update the server though. The 10 Pro licenses could be upgraded and Avast sent a replacement v5 key.
