The real issue here is that this is a "short fix" to the jobs program and will only boot the problem down the road until we are beyond election 2012! These are not permanent jobs and, once this funding bubble bursts, these vets are no better off...perhaps worse off..than they are today. Money spent training vets into jobs programs NOT dependent on a government grant (private sector) would have long term effects and would NOT be another political football for Congress and the White House to fumble! As a former Marine and Vietnam Vet I want REAL solutions for our military and their families...not political posturing!

This nation no longer has a strong, principled media presence anywhere EXCEPT at the local level (minus the newspaper conglomerates). Once those are lost we will be lost in a sea of disinformation and government press releases. CALL your local TV/RADIO station and NEWSPAPER and complain and then CALL their advertisers (mostly local businesses) and threaten to boycott their products if they continue supporting the station....what now FAILS at the national level WORKS locally!

I remember Newt pontificating on Welfare reform stating you get more of what you reward! Every four years the RNC gets rewarded with hundreds of millions of dollars by trotting out a non-conservative and forcing us to choose between THAT non-conservative and the Democrat non-conservative. Shiori I would like nothing better than to be able to support Gingrich but the old adage "fool me once shame on YOU...fool me twice, shame on ME" comes to mind. I don't care about his frenetic sexual behavior but I DO care about his serial lying where he pontificates about conservative values and then...in action...he does things like endorsing global warming and cap and tax...or the little gem from 2007 where he opines that we need to increase the size of the State Department by fifty per cent. His support of the INDIVIDUAL MANDATE belies his understanding of the Constitution and the limited role of government. Bottom line...NEWT IS A FRAUD!
