Does everyone see the paradox that having a government education monopoly creates? There is actually no right answer to this problem as it stands, each side has a legitimate case. The parents should never be forced to have their children taught by someone who they feel lacks decency, yet the photographer has every right to run a legal website business and not be discriminated against for it. The only answer is to rid the nation of all federal education control and return the power to the communities. Just wait until California's gay history curriculum mandate makes its way to Oregon in the next couple years. You think this guy's perversion is bad, wait until mandated homosexual/transexual indoctrination hits local elementary schools.

What many of you are not considering is that people have an ingrained will to protect themselves. This woman was acting defensively after being strongly handled by the officer. Her friend then seeing the excessive handling made what could be considered a dumb move and tried to help her friend. The officer's aggression escalated this situation unnecessarily and he caused a fight or flight response in the girls. Being that they are still kids learning their place with authority they responded to the officer's aggression poorly. He is the one trained to deal with situations, and the only adult. This video is very clear that he didn't like that the friend gave him a shove and decked her without a second thought.

I understand what you are saying about the age being unknown at first, at least for certain. I don't know about you, but almost every 16 y.o. I've seen looks young to me. At best they could pass for 18-ish, but that is not the point of this story. From the details given he was unarmed. Using a taser should only be a substitute for lethal force. The result is that this child is now fighting for his life after the altercation. That is the point.

I am playing Devil's advocate here, but keep in mind that a 16 y.o. is not fully capable of making sound decisions. Guilty or innocent, he is still just a child. In some rare extreme cases children can be tried as adults, but that is not the case here. We are hearing a story of an officer using one step below lethal force to subdue a child. Even the strongest 16 y.o. boy should be no match for two trained officers restraining him physically, no weapons needed.

C'mon you guys. This is a vegan restaurant. If pig is not on the menu, why should it be allowed to walk in the door?

Of course I support duii laws. I don't think anybody is actually against those laws. Whether they are followed or not is another story.

Hey I can respect your position of having to deal with unruly people at campsites all the time and seeing many of them getting drunk and being stupid. The problem you are referencing however is a society issue, attempted prohibition of a substance does not solve the problem. I love to camp, fire up the grill, and enjoy a few drinks with my family..responsibly. Now I will be limited in how I choose to legally recreate because of some yokels that are likely irresponsible jerks even when they're not drinking.

Or another example: A minimum wage, newly hired security guard sees someone in a store after hours. Instead of asking if the person belongs there, he hastily calls the cops. Cop shows up with weapon drawn aggressively shouting at the supposed intruder. The "intruder" doesn't speak english very well so he ends up getting shot. Turns out it was the business owner coming in to catch up on some work. Damn if only that security guard hadn't called police he would have never been shot. Or if the owner spoke english it wouldn't be a problem. Nevermind that there was no sign of a break in, all the lights were on and he was setting peacefully at a desk. See where I am going here?

Rental companies are not hired or trained to protect and serve the public. They do not go through exstensive training to assess situations and evaluate risks. They could be complete dumbasses as long as they can file rental paperwork. It's like someone dropping off a person at an ER and telling the doc it looks like their foot needs to be amputated. The doc goes ahead and does it, but realizes afterward that it was just a sprained ankle. Oops, the guy off the street told me to amputate, sorry about that.
