"United States has become a powerless bystander as Syria descended into chaos and the formerly isolated regime in Gaza suddenly found.....

The U.S. has never had influence in Gaza, and especially not Syria. Why should the U.S./Obama get involved with two countries that hate us now and will continue to hate us in the future. Let the locals settle things, even if that means they butcher each other to do it.

Typical Saudi bluster. Whine about a "military response", then wait for someone else, usually the U.S. or the Brits, to do the actual work. If the Saudi's really believe a military response is necessary in Syria, they have a modern army, air force, etc. Commit it. Nah... it's just like the Desert Storm Wars and Libya. Saudi Arabia will sit on the sidelines, maybe throw in a few bucks, but won't do anything themselves.

From the article "Nearly 40% of Chicago public school students drop out." From a new story last week, "CPS (Chicago Public School) head wants Illinois to end No Child Left Behind". A demand for 30% more salary in a recession approaching depression, and no value given or will be given.

It's time that someone in Chicago do a Reagan and fire the unions completely, resetting the entire school system. If 40% drop out already, then shutting down the system for a year or more to rebuild it will have no impact on education.

Is Obama really that stupid? For the first 2 or 3 hundred years of this country, the central government didn't exist or was so small it was not involved in day to day life. How the heck did Harvard, William and Mary, etc., get started? It sure and the hell wasn't the federal government.
