That lesson was in a "textbook". In real life it doesn't matter. Money matters and who you know matters -- voting...doesn't make a difference. They don't teach that at all but after years of voting you figure it out the hard way.

I think it's great that everyone down south allowed WSDOT to toll the bridge, and not an insignificant fee to begin with, then you all allow them to open it up after you've paid a toll to cross it. We have the highest gas tax in the country and the biggest waste in state government ... you "don't" get what you pay for folks unless you hold them accountable.

Pay the toll to sit on the bridge and wait while it closes...sounds like the toll was worth it ...NOT. But glad they'll kind of let us know. I haven't driven 520 since the tolls started anyway.

How does it cost $87,000 to run two servers for 8 months? I run a full service Software as a Service company which serves clients all over the world and we pay about $2,000 for a server per year in a top of the line data center with power backups, fire suppression, backup internet connections, etc. You've got to be kidding me that the cost is really $87,000?!

Absolutely ridiculous. Can't believe that we allow the state to protect monopolies like this. They should be able to create a competing ferry service. But voting doesn't seem to make any difference....I wish them luck in the legal fight against the state!

Why do Legislators get paid for special sessions? I think all special session should be without pay for all legislators and their staff. Then they wouldn't be able to milk the public for overtime when they didn't do their job right the first time around. NO PAY FOR SPECIALS SESSIONS!

So if tolls are the wave of the future does that mean lower transportation taxes are too? You can't do both: highest gas tax in the country and toll everything. Dear state, please pick one or the other but not both.

Great so now we have to pay $30/year per car (for the Discovery Pass) and get less service, fewer open parks, and seasonal closures. That was a worthwhile investment...

Completely terrible. I entered Las Vegas, NV USA as a destination and it told me the site can only be used for destinations within the US and that "Las Vegas, NV, USA" is not in the U.S.
