Part III: Everything in this era is different then past eras obviously. An example is the style of video games. When my mom grew up video games had just started with atari so she was playing super old school games like galatica. Then during the beginning of my childhood was mario brothers and donkey kong on super nitenedo later leading to the first playstation and eventually xbox. This is when I first noticed the introduction of video games with violence. Games like resident evil and duke nukem64 are some that I remember. Hopefully the topics discussed wont exceed the extremities that they have already come to because I do think that the new pop culture of things is getting “dumbed” down. A prime example is current tv shows like Jersey Shore, 16 and Pregnant and about any other of the shows on MTV. I can actually remember when it used to actually play music almost all day. But in conclusion I think that maybe as generations go on things will change and their will be different issues argued about and we will all be the old people complaing about all the young kids.

Part II: For example there is no reason to get all worked up about the rape scene in The Last House on the Left. The MPAA rating and the description of why the movie was rated as such is written on the back of the movie. It reads as such "Rated R for sadistic brutal violence including a rape and disturbing images, language, nudity and some drug use. " Reading this could have saved a ruined night for someone and all of their friends. As for the rest of the movies that include extreme forms of violence and such; it is just the popular design for a movie these days. If it sells tickets people will continue to make the films. Movies are made to entertain and for most movies that is their sole purpose. Directors like Quentin Tarantino actually make pretty decent movies for the most part. Inglorious Basterds is an amazing movie with a really good story to go with it. His style of violence and blood ever since his Kill Bill series draws in his audience. I think society will be dealing with violence in video games and movies for a good while yet. Its what the majority of people in the current era enjoy.

Part I: I think that this is a pretty sick and twisted video game for sure. Japan is kind of notorious for such inappropiate things though. For example, until just recently they used to sell used women's underwear in vending machines. YES VENDING MACHINES. I think that this is something to get worked up about because of the content. Rape is a very sensitive topic especially when it involves young children and teens. I think that rape is a very serious matter and one of the things that they should warn people about in the description on a game or movie. Other than that i dont think people should be complaing about video games and violent movies.

A good example with something guys do this with is masturbation or "jacking off." I dont personally talk about it just because I dont think its something i need to share with friends but im not uncomfortable when other people talk about it. And girls know that all guys are doing it and they are probably doing it themselves too so just because guys dont get periods doesnt mean that only females should be the ones to have to talk about it. I think that periods are part of life and are a very naturaly thing that without, none of us would be here today, so no female in the world should ever be ashamed or embarrassed to talk about it. I also think that every male in the world should be understanding and especially sympathetic to females at their time of the month. I know i wouldnt want to deal with it if i was in their shoes so i respect that they have and will continue to deal with this every month.

On an end note any husband or long term boyfriend who refuses to buy thier wife/ significant other tampons of pads needs to be slapped.

Second, I am a male and I do not feel uncomfortable at all takling about periods because I am mature enought to. I actually find that I embarrass or disgust most of my female friends when I bring it up which kind of makes me think. I feel that women should feel comfortable asking one another to borrow a tampon or a pad or whatever from their peers without having to be all secretive about it. It actually bugs me to see when my friends do that so every now and then if I notice my girlfriends best friend whispering about needing to borrow a tampon ill jump in the conversation by very loudly saying "Do you need a tampon or something?!" and she would respond with "Shhhhhhhhh....." It should not be like that at all. Men, and women especially should be able to talk about periods without being grossed out and "ewwing" it. Yeah we don't need to be going into details about the "bleeding" and whatnot but it should atleast be a conversation that can be brought up without offending anyone.

First off, I do agree that if any of the people who left the room did so because he said "bleeding" they really need to get past that. It is pretty obvious and everyone learns in health class what happens during a women's period so we should all be comfertable with the term bleeding. He may have gone too far with the whole looking at it in the toliet thing but it didn't offend me at all. THe point he made about if women ruled the world we probably would be more casual about discussing it was pretty valid in my opinon.

I think that lesbian couples are definitely accepted more than gay couples by the majority of people. Lesbian couples are seen as attractive to most men because they like the whole " girl on girl" aspect of it. As opposed to gay couples who most men would find wrong and not right. This is due to a good population of guys having to live up to their machismo with the mindset that guys should only be with females. I'm not sure what females thoughts about gay men couples are but I am almost certain they are not getting turned on by thinking of it as "guy on guy." Another thing that I think makes lesbian couples more accepted is the era that we currently live in. Or at least the college part of life. When girls are drinking at parties they like to kiss their girlfriends or just other girls in general. Part of it is probably the whole experimenting in college aspect while the other influence comes from guys liking to watch it and guys usually cheer on that sort of behavior. I have never been at a party where the roles were reversed and girls were trying to get guys to kiss each other. That is just my view on it though, which may or may not be right to others. However, I do think that gay and lesbian couples are more accepted as whole in this day in time. I also think that approval of these couples will only increase as time goes on. A couple years ago the idea of gay and lesbian couples was not as accepted as it is now because it was something that was kind of unseen by people. And we can already see how the acceptance levels have gone up significantly since then which is why I believe they will continue to grow as a result of more maturity on the topic from the public. So I hope that eventually everyone will accept gay and lesbian couples and that every state will allow gay marriages just as they allow heterosexual marriage.

First of all, Avatar was a fantastic movie in my opinion and James Cameron did a wonderful job with the visual effects. It is the only 3D movie worth seeing in my personal opinion. The fact that Cameron came up with the visual technology that he used in the film is just crazy and really cool in itself. A lot of people do call this movie racist just because of how a white man saves the "blue" people and their land. It's not like he did it for any benefit to himself; he genuinely liked the people of the Natari which is why he chose to go against his own people (people of his race) to save their land and the people of the land.
Now back to the fact that a white man is always the hero in the movies. There was a movie that came out a couple years ago called I Am Legend. Its about a scientist who is immune to a virus that is mutating and killing other people. This man is isolated and alone (except for his dog) in New York City for a long time so that he can be the "hero" who figures out a vaccine to save the infected humans. The character in the movie is played by Will Smith; last time I checked he was black. Sure this is just one movie compared to the many where the "hero" is portrayed by a white man but times are changing and we can see many more lead roles being played by people of different ethinicities and races.
