Bactrian camels have no problem walking on snow and ice; domesticated specimens are found throughout Central Asia (including Mongolia). Dromedaries (like the one in the video), on the other hand, are relatively delicate, intolerant of cold, and restricted to the warmer parts of the world. That's not to say that the camel was liable to die from its brief exposure to the cold (even North Africa and the Middle East get cold), nor is it to assert that there was any genuine malice on the part of the crew (more likely ignorance). Of course, nothing but politics could explain any silence on the part of fringe groups like PETA, which are meanwhile railing against goldfish mills and animal tea testing.
