With all due respect to Publius and the editors - I thnk they may have missed a typo - in the headline no less. Shouldn't it be:

Wednesday open thread: "STFU Already!" Edition

I think everyone on this board is familiar with that argument, and if not there are plenty of places to engage in the debate.

This thread is a appeal for help - if you want to help - help.

As the immature "finger" incidents of the campaign demonstrated - this guy is not an "exceedingly ordinary man." Ordinary men do not engage in such sophomoric hijinks in formal settings, the locker room, watching the game with friends, sure, but not while debating matters of national interests. This manboy - err manchild - is just a punk, one who's too immature to control himself, much less run this great country.

Could the powers that be post a scoreboard so we can see who's been served notice and whether or not they have issued retractions or corrections?

This yapping fool should take a lesson from Morgan Freeman... When fellow fool Mike Wallace asked him how we can end racism, Freeman answered:

"Stop talking about it. I`m going to stop calling you a white man. And I`m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man."

But to be generous to Matthews, no doubt the last thing Obama wants everyone to do is to stop talking about his race. What then.. sink or swim on his own merits?

Maybe the demonstration participants will be older - time will tell - but the implied message that pro-life views are just held by old maids is just wrong.

A recent Marist survey shows that:

"Millennials" (those 18-29) consider abortion to be "morally wrong" even more (58%) than Baby Boomers (those 45-64) (51%). Generation X (those 30-44) are similar to Millennials (60% see abortion as "morally wrong"). More than 6 in 10 of the Greatest Generation (those 65+) feel the same."

I haven't watched this shame of a "news magazine" since they did the hatchet job on Audi back in 1986 with that bogus "Unintended Acceleration" hit piece.

Doesn't look like I've missed much.

Haven't all their "reporters" passed their expiration dates already?

Time to send in Diane Moon-Glampers!

In case you're not familiar with Ms. Moon-Glampers, she holds the position of "United States Handicapper General", although that title was assigned to her by Kurt Vonnegut back in 1961 when he wrote the short story "Harrison Bergason". Today, in Berkeley, her title would most likely be "Handicapper Czar"

The story is set in a Utopian striving society, like Berkeley, where they desire to bring about equality for all. They find that it's almost impossible to motivate some people to perform up to their capabilities, so instead they aim to bring anyone above average down to average. Too athletic? They burden you with a neck collar of lead, Great artistic ability? Cured by forcing one to wear blinders. Too many smart people enrolled in an advanced course? Easy fix - eliminate the course.

I'm sure the district can find it in their discretionary funds to hire Ms. Moon-Glampers as a consultant, just redirect the monies saved by not having to issue those expensive, and discriminatory, advanced achievement awards at graduation.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of working with a few Marines out at Twentynine Palms. They were officers, the guys who destined to be the defacto political leaders of Iraq cities and troops when they shipped out. I was very impressed by their command of Iraqi customs, culture, and the lay of the land. They did their homework, studied hard, and took their jobs extremely seriously.

We would do well to close down the State Department and instead allow these statesmen warriors to represent our country abroad.

Don't know enough about either man to make a vote call, but I do like one thing that Morgan Freeman said... When asked what America could do about racism, freeman answered “How are we going to get rid of racism? Stop talking about it!”
