Funny how the former Buchanan supporter is now a neo-con after a trip to DC though, no?
Not buying it this time. Editing is not a problem. Poor editing is. Most of Maddow's points were minor and irrelevant, but a professional journalist who cares about the quality of his product does not edit in a way that easily suggests impropriety.
Illegal immigration is like theft? Really? So I guess when the left says our nation is founded on stolen land they are not being America haters but actually have correctly analyzed the situation? Trespassing =/= theft. And 'anchor babies' are legal; 'birthright' is anti-immigrant, not just anti-illegal immigrant, and it goes against the spirit of what America means. Finally we do have civics literacy exams specifically for foreign-born voters, it's called the citizenship test. I think what Tom Tancredo is actually getting at is voter integrity, not poll exams, since Americans, theoretically, got their civics in school and the foreign-born who vote ALL took citizenship tests and usually know more than the average American (sad but true), and that's Maddow's biggest sin here. Tom Tancredo doesn't want to test people before they vote, he doesn't want non-citizens voting, which is a legitimate and serious concern.
To be fair don't believe everything the FDA says either.
What's this have to do with 9/11 and what happened to the courageous America whose hair doesn't stand in fear of some backwards fundamentalists in Asia. This site is becoming little more than the right-wing equivalent of the insufferable Gawker.
The people of California need to rise up.
Another insincere use of PC tactics by the right. Why are we doing this? It destroys the legitimacy and strength of opposition to PC when the same opponents use it when it's in their favor. You're hot Hannah. Straight men like hot women. Bob Beckel impressed with your body does not make him a sexist or a pervert, it makes him a male.
Hey guise, we'll never defeat PC if we turn PC when it's politically convenient (here and the "retard" incident). This is NOT racist. What is racist about this situation is that a bunch of white NBC employees and while liberal bloggers felt they had the right to take offense on behalf of black people, essentially throwing a decent hard working black chef under the bus for PCness. Don't bite that apple guys.
Politicians deserve no breaks. For someone whose national image is largely founded on his role during 9/11, the Mayor's mis-statement was egregious. Obviously he didn't "forget 9/11" but he wasn't in top form either.
To be fair the people who vote for the WBAI board donate to the WBAI board, and I don't think anyone's arguing it should be some other way, right?
