Hi Terrie,
Thanks for the question.
The 18 year old Gianni Mina from France is currently the World No.655 on the men\'s ATP Tour. The rankings do not factor in who you play against. So unfortunately for Mina, playing against Nadal in the 1st round of Roland Garros as a wild card entrant means he does not receive any ranking points at all. Last year he did not play at Roland Garros, so he will not lose any points, which means he still has 29 ATP ranking points. When the next rankings are out, he will stay pretty much where he is, in the mid to high 600\'s.
Mina was the runner-up in the 2009 Junior Roland Garros boys singles final, is currently the Junior ITF World No.3 and was No.1 just 2 months ago. Mina will be playing the Junior event again this year, so watch out for how he does. The Junior tournament runs for 1 week and begins on Monday 31 May.

The Top 20 famous or most prestigious tournaments are:

The 4 Grand Slams - Australian Open, Roland Garros (French Open), Wimbledon & the US Open.

The end of year championships for both the men & the women - the Sony Ericsson Championships in Doha & the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

The Premier Mandatory and the Premier FIVE women\'s tournaments and the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 men\'s tournaments - Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, Rome, Madrid, Cincinnati, Toronto/Montreal, Tokyo, Beijing, Monte-Carlo, Shanghai & Paris.

The team competition where all of the countries compete to see which country has the best team each year. This is called the Federation Cup for women and the Davis Cup for men, plus the Olympics once every 4 years.

Thank you Alan for your comment, suggestions and regular visits. I have now updated the Schedule of Play with an intalicised sentence. Please see above.
Monte-Carlo tournament management decided to alter the schedule and play just 4 of the 2nd round matches a day earlier than previously announced, even though 1st round matches had not been completed.
In the post \"Monte-Carlo 2010 Men\'s 2nd Round\" I announced these matches would take place a day early. At present, I try to include the results of each round once it is completed, before a post for that particular round is published on this website.
I will look into a way to update results as close as possible to when the matches finish.
Thank you once again. This website\'s coverage, content & services increase as the number of 1. Visits to the webiste, 2. Facebook Fans & 3. email subscribers increase.
So please play an active roll in shaping this tennis website to cater to your interests by helping increase all 3 factors above. Thank you for your support.

Thank you for your question.
Federer only plays 16 to 18 tournaments per year. Of the 9 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 8 of them are compulsory for those players ranked high enough to gain direct entry. However, Monte-Carlo is the only 1 that is not compulsory, so Federer decided not play.
In fact, Federer\'s schedule for 2010 has him in 18 rankings tournaments:
4 Grand Slams
8 Masters
1 end of year championships in London
3 ATP 250 events (Doha, Estoril & Halle) &
2 ATP 500 events (Dubai & Basel).
