also i found this:
Evidently the proximity sensor will never turn on if the status bar is in landscape orientation.

i.e. if you call:

[UIApplication sharedApplication].statusBarOrientation = UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft;

You will no longer get proximity:ON notifications.

How i can do that?!?! Please help I need to turn of this sensor asap.

There is a public API for this. -[UIApplication setProximitySensingEnabled:(BOOL)]
I found this in google but don't know what does it mean

Hello i have a problem with my proximity sensor. When the phone is on the sun or on light sometimes its freezing. Can i disable the sensor from terminal? Please help! Thank you.
