People need to organize in their own communities, petition, call, write and visit their local legislators and demand they stop adding unnecessary, health-robbing, money-wasting fluoride chemicals into the water supply. And if it is not added to your personal water supply, it is being added to the water used to make foods purchased in supermarkets and restaurants. So get your message out to your state representatives to get them to stop their State Health Departments from endorsing, promoting, defending and funding water fluoridation schemes.

Social media helps in general. But specific locations must use the old-fashioned way of giving our flyers, petitioning, speaking before community groups, etc. to get the local people, who don't even know they need to research fluoride, aware that there's a toxin in the water that is purposely added. And that there's an easy solution - just turn the spigot or push the "off" button.

We've seen instances where legislators have voted to stop fluoridation and then were intimidated by local dentists and health departments to reverse that decision. When no constituents show up outraged about fluoridation, legislators will keep the status quo to keep their jobs. Legislators need to know you have their backs when they vote out fluoridation.

The real problem is that dentists won't treat these people the rest of the year because they want more money to do so. Untreated tooth decay has become a national epidemic because 80% of dentists refuse to treat Medicaid patients, 130 million Americans don't have dental insurance and many of those that do can't afford dentistry's high out of pocket expenses.

There is a solution - to allow dental therapists to work in the US as they do in other developed countries. They just need a few years training and are able to drill, fill and pull teeth as well as dentists but will do it more cheaply and treat the people that dentists won't or can't.

The problem is that organized dentistry, with its pockets full of corporate cash, lobby all state legislators to shun dental therapists because they don't want any viable solutions to infringe upon its lucrative monopoly.

So it might seem that kind dentists are doing charitable work but they have caused the problem in the first place

Those early fluoridation opposers were right. Modern science indicates that ingesting fluoride is ineffective at reducing tooth decay, harmful to health and a waste of money. Over 4000 professionals including hundreds of dentists and MD's now oppose fluoridation and have signed a statement at the Fluoride Action Network

Early fluoridationists truly believed that fluoride was ann essential nutrient required for healthh teeth. but they were wrong. Fluoride is not essential is not a nutrient and lack of fluoride does not cause tooth decay.

Fluoride is a drug with lots of side effect just like all other drugs have see http://www.FluorideAction.Net/issues/health

We are very concerned that total fluoride exposure is not safe for children. EPA is relying on outdated science to support this increase in fluoride exposure. – Richard Wiles [Environmental Working Group]

Modern science indicates that ingesting fluoride is ineffective at reducing tooth decay and harmful to health. Tooth decay crises are occurring in all fluoridated cities, states and countries

There is no evidence that any child is or ever was fluoride deficient but loads of evidence is reported that American children re fluoride overdosed

Fluoridation Opposition is Scientific, Respectable & Growing

More than 4,038 professionals (including 331 dentists and 518 MD’s) urge that fluoridation be stopped citing scientific evidence that ingesting fluoride is ineffective at reducing tooth decay and has serious health risks. See statement: http://www.fluoridealert.org/professionals-statem...

-- The CDC reports that over 41% of 12-15 years olds are afflicted with dental fluorosis
due to fluoride over-exposure.

Tooth decay crises are occurring in all fluoridated cities, states and countries. See: http://www.FluorideNews.blogspot.com

-- All baby foods contain fluoride, according to research presented at the 2012 annual meeting of the International Association of Dental Research.

-- Commonly-consumed infant fruit juices contain fluoride, some at levels higher than recommended for pubic water supplies, according to research was presented 3/17/2011 at the International Association for Dental Research annual meeting in San Diego

-- HHS Assistant Secretary for Health, Dr. Howard Koh, says all infant formulas, either concentrated or ready-to-feed, already contain some fluoride and, when routinely mixed with fluoridated water, increase the risk of dental fluorosis (discolored teeth), in a video commentary published on Medscape.com, March 8, 2011 (References: http://www.FormulaFluoride.Webs.com

Eleven US EPA unions representing over 7000 environmental and public health professionals are calling for a moratorium on fluoridation. (b)

The CDC reports that 225 less communities adjusted for fluoride between 2006 and 2008. About 100 US and Canadian communities rejected fluoridation since 2008.

In Nebraska, 53 out of 66 towns voted not to fluoridate in 2008 and 2010, reports the PEW Foundation.

Tennessee, once 99% fluoridated, is now down in the low 90’s, according to the American Dental Association News.

In 2011 the following US cities stopped fluoridation: Holmen and Grantsburg, Wisconsin; Welsh, Louisiana; Mechanicsville, Iowa; Hartland, Marcellus and Mt. Clemens, MI; Fairbanks and Palmer, Alaska; Spring Hill, Lawrenceburg & Hohenwald, TN; Philomath, OR; Pottstown, PA; College Station and Lago Vista, Texas ; Spencer, Indiana; Naples, NY; Pinellas County and Tarpon, FL; Amesbury, MA and Yellow Springs, Ohio . In 2012: Myerstown, Pennsylavnia; ; Bolivar, Missouri

In Canada: Lake Shore, Ontario; Calgary, Slave Lake and Taber, Alberta; Flin Flon, Manitoba; Verchères, Québec; Lake Cowichan and Williams Lake, BC; Moncton and Dieppe, New Brunswick. In 2012: Amherstburg, Ontario.

In New Zealand: New Plymouth and Taumarunui.

Many cities are considering stopping fluoridation including New York City

New York State communities which have already stopped or rejected fluoridation include: Elba, Levittown, Canton, Corning, Johnstown, Oneida, Carle Place, Rockland County, Suffolk County, Western Nassau County, Albany, Beacon, Poughkeepsie, Riverhead, Central Bridge Water District, Homer, Ithaca, Rouses Point and Amsterdam.

Students in Ireland are spearheading a campaign to stop fluoridation in the only country that mandates fluoridation country-wide.

This is exactly why fluoride drugs should not be added into everyone's water supply to be dosed based on thirst over their entire lifetimes, whether they have teeth or not.

People need to demand that fluoridation be stopped where they live and in the state that they live. We already know the adverse effects fluoride can have on the human body see http://www.FluorideAction.Net/health

Why is this information being ignored and compromising your health?

Modern science indicates that ingesting fluoride does not reduce tooth decay. Fluoride hardens outer enamel by topical means alone. Fluoride is neither a nutrient nor essential for healthy teeth. So water fluoridation has no benefits.

The CDC says the amount of fluoride that emerges from saliva to bathe teeth topically is too low to have an anti-cavity effects.

Only organized dentistry benefits from fluoridation as it gives the illusion they care about the low-income people whose teeth they won't actually treat. 80% of dentists won't treat medicaid patients.

The real solution is to mandate that dentists treat people instead of their water. If that's distasteful to dentists, then they have to stop lobbying against viable solutions such as allowing dental therapists to work in the mouths and cities where dentists refuse to go.

Dentists who claim to look into a patient's mouth and know whether they live in a fluoridated area are actually discerning socioeconomic status. People with lots of decay can't afford dentists high costs and wait until the pain is so bad that they can get treatment at an emergency room costing taxpayers ten times the amount of a simple filling.

Despite decades of water fluoridation in New York State, the Journal of the American Dental Association reports that emergency treatment for NYS toddlers’ severe tooth decay has grown substantially in numbers and costs, many require general anesthesia

Fluoridation was supposed to put dentists out of business but instead:

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
projects that the total national expenditures for dental care
will almost triple between 2000 and 2020, going from
$62.0 billion in 2000 to $167.9 billion in 2020, a 271%
increase. This increase in expenditures is significantly

higher than the increase in the Consumer Price Index, the
best measure of inflation as experienced by consumers in
their day-to-day living expenses. In the decade between
2000 and 2010, the CPI rose to 127% of the 2000 level,
while oral health spending rose to 165% of the 2000 level.

One component of the CPI is the CPI for Dental Services
(CPI-DS). During the same time period, 2000-2010, the
CPI-DS rose to 154% of the 2000 level, double the rise in
the CPI for all items and higher than the 149% rise in the
CPI for all Medical Care.

Also, dental expenses are among the highest out-of-pocket
health expenditures for consumers. In 2008 dental expenditures
accounted for $30.7 billion or 22.2% of total
out-of-pocket health expenditures, second only to
prescription medications.
