Hitler, Stalin & George Soros knew the importance of cultural influence.
Stalin quote: "“Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't allow our enemies to have guns, why should we allow them to have ideas?”

For too long, creative talent in Hollywood had to sublimate their true artistic expression knowing it would never get the thumbs up. A courageous few are presently coming out of the woodwork but we need to nurture the coming generation. This is very exciting! Just like Michael Moore had his watershed moment with 'Roger & Me', hopefully a new gun will counter with an equally important film that gives voice to a silent majority.

.."the Fourth of July goes with war movies — you know, like Al Gore and happy endings."

And this is why I enjoy your posts so much!

But I digress. You know, I have never seen 'Patton' in full (why isn't it shown more?) which now I will make a point of doing. 'The Longest Day', imo, is the only war movie I could bear watching all the way through and with it's incredible cast of characters & more realistic story is a treasure.

Has there been a decent film about the American Revolution in your opinion?

I didn't like Red Eye at first but it sort of grows on you like salmonella on a raw tepid steak.

I'm sorry to tell you that the WPT or the WSOP was never mentioned in this article. Poker After Dark is a show that airs around the time of Red Eye.

Uh, Jews were killed in Poland because of the Nazi invasion in which Jews, Christians and any other poor soul who happened to cross their goose-stepping path. Education of Jewish history and the importance of Israel is a much more effective rebuttal than disparaging an innocent country.

Btw, why should she be fired when her views (albeit not as openly stated) are shared by the administration, media and the U.N.?

I was working at the census til this last Friday when they told me it would be my last day but I could re-apply for a position in a week. I'm not sure I will because I want a consistent full-time job. If this is fraud, could it be punishable in the courts? If so, who exactly gets punished? For all the talk by this administration about how they 'care' more about people than conservatives, I really don't appreciate my livelihood being used as a pawn to further their political facade.

YAY another post from Mr. Leigh!!

There's a saying in Hollywood, 'they kill you softly', meaning, after an audition you will get a, "Thanks, you did great we'll call you." You and your mother may not understand why you didn't get a call back but the powers that be do. Do you know why they don't want to tell you the truth? Because they could care less about you and would rather look sweet at the time than say something harsh. Show biz is very personal because you are selling yourself to the public and we know how ugly the public is regarding celebrities. If you don't have a thick skin and be willing to change, you'd never last anyway. Simon is doing them a favor by saying what many of us are thinking. He is the ultimate greek chorus.

Why don't you post more!!! You always crystallize my thoughts while making me laugh.

This is why I stopped watching after the 2nd season -

"And that’s what happened. As things in “Lost” got wackier, you realized at some point, it just wasn’t worth the effort to keep up. Especially as it became clear there was no way they were going to find a logical explanation for all the crazy stuff."

I will miss the superior smug feeling I got whilst listening to Lost devotees debate the endless contrivances knowing all the while it would mean nothing. Hmmm....kinda like the Matrix films, fun to watch only if you ignore the nonsensical philosophy.

"One is a movie about a peaceful, idyllic land invaded by an evil military force trying to steal their resources. The other one is called Avatar."

Thank you for yet another spit-take on my computer. And the belly laugh.
