Everything in this article hinges on whether Osama bin Laden is still alive. Obviously, the powers that be have a huge investment in OBL and together with the mainstream media's help, are artificially maintaining his "presence", dead or alive; after all, public support for "war on terrorism" requires that the chief boogeyman is still actively promoted, to remind the public about those weeks post 9/11 when the name Osama bin Laden (and Muslims in general) were being uttered every minute, every hour, every day, or every news and television channel, just to press the association home. However, to this day, no proof that would stand up in a US court of law has been offered that points to OBL as being the mastermind behind the attacks. He is on the FBI's most wanted list, but for crimes other than 9/11, and the DOJ hasn't indicted him on 9/11 related charges.

All the apparent "bin Laden" videos released since 9/11 have been either proven fakes or were made prior to the attacks and released "on the drip", for reasons of political expediency. The Jalalabad video of his "confession" cited as the "smoking gun" (which "justified" the October 2001 invasion of Afghanistan), has problems in its authenticity (and translation) in that the FBI has not used it to press charges, despite the fact that videotape evidence is used on a regular basis to press criminal charges.

There are hundreds of facts which cast doubts OBL's alive status. Just like the rest of the mainstream media on this issue, Scheuer is talking shit, and he knows it. The public, however, prefers to believe that he is still alive because collectively as a society, we need an enemy.
