Depends on the bootloader. The unlock is out now, so you could try searching for pwnagetool bundles for 3GS, which should point you int he direction of the method I used to jailbreak the 4.0 GM. It is a bit involved though. Once that is on there, you should be able to use the new unlock. However, if it is new bootloader you can't. Mine is carrier unlocked by o2 in the uk, so I don't need to worry about the unlock :)

Your baseband will most likely be upgraded - the unlock will be temporarily negated so make sure you have wifi. Once jailbroken, get the new ultrasn0w and unlock your new baseband :)

From memory on my 3G i Had a similar wifi problem with a blackra1n jb. I think all you had to do was reset network settings and it came back.

Winterboard isn't yet compatible with iOS 4.0 - I tried running it on the 3GS. Mobilesubstrate was updated last night so may give it another shot though.

Likelihood is, then, that most should be ok. Do you know if either of these cases were UK o2 stock?

Thanks - guess we need to wait for a new hole then. How many with the new bootrom have been seen in the wild (i.e. does anyone know the likelihood of getting one?)
