@Seth: It's just the facts. Investing in a startup which depends on a social network is a bad idea because all you're really doing is promoting the social network and not your brand / product / service. Dollar for dollar, per user, the social network will inevitably yield more revenue than any 3rd party developers which easily caps growth and limits sustainability. Once you hit a tipping point you'll reach critical mass fairly quickly and when you do you'll be limited in that most of your most significant business decisions will be limited to the wants and needs of the social network instead of your shareholders and users.

I feel this is applicable to mobile applications as well.

This news was on NPR and that REALLY sucks. People don't want to come to Dallas now because the crime AND the police. How and why did Powell come to be a DPD officer to begin with? Who do you blame, Officer Powell, or DPD training and internal affairs?

It'd be nice if recordings from ALL stops were made public and not just stops under scrutiny/investigation. I would have thought the pressure of a squad car camera would deter this type of treatment to begin with.
