naylandblake.net : Good-bye Joanna Russ

The inside cover indicates that it's part of the same publishing series as Dhalgren, which is pretty wild when you think about it.

naylandblake.net : How I spent 152.00 for a lousy cup of coffee...

What's pathetic is that this is one week where I really can't afford to lose a single day, and that's just what I've done. At least upstate New York is beautiful this time of year.

Michelle - I'll do my best, and beyond that there may well be a new venue put together for just such conversations and connections to take place.

Chuck - Good luck locating a copy of FC. It is still the occasion for much argument back and forth: Jack never approved any sort of release.

naylandblake.net : Slight...

I think that the problem is structural more than one of content: digital media tends to make the experience of all kinds of content interchangeable, but what if software designers made it difficult or impossible to do something else on the computer when the program is running? Writers often speak about the struggle of dealing with the blank page, and there are now a number of wordprocessing programs that try to replicate that experience. What if our digital tools , instead of offering us options, offered us the silence to understand our own struggles?

naylandblake.net : Queer again and where gratitude comes from...

Eric - Thanks. This understanding was also fed by the meeting I witnessed a while ago at that other organization we know of, one that was conducted with cordiality and clarity. It made me realize that people don't have to be combative to get things done, and I don't have to put my energy into endeavors that foster that atmosphere.

So lovely of you to say, hon. I think that the cleaning process has turned for me into an exfoliation more than dermabrasion: I feel freer to feel than I have in ages. I think I was smothering myself under all the stuff.
