I absolutely LOVE Scotland! My Mom is from Paisley, Scotland and she worked in Glasgow. I've been to my "Home away from Home" twice and cry when I come back home. It is such a beautiful country.
I've got my money on Carrie doing another amazing job on the national anthem and my beloved COLTS winning it all!
Carrie should definitely win Entertainer of the year next year at the CMA's with a Holiday Special, National Anthem, TV guest role, Movie, plus CNN performance, AND new album and big tour this year. She's doing it all! Taylor will win again at the ACM's this year..but it's Carrie's year next year!
Female Vocalist is definitely a race this year. ALL are good with the exception of one. Carrie could win, Leeann Womack could definitely win but it just maybe Miranda's turn. For those who have a problem with Carrie..well, yeah she has some poppish songs but "Play On" also has some definitely country songs as well. Give me someone who can sing country in tune and I'm happy.
Her songs are great. Near the end here, she seems a bit hoarse. Don't know if there's a cold coming or she hasn't sang this long at a time.
I love Miranda. She writes and sings beautifully. The bulk of country buyers may be into "contemporary country", but Miranda has the best country music. It's time everyone takes notice.
I'm really surprised that "Before He Cheats" one of the best selling singles ever, was not on the dance list for 2006 or 2007. Unless, it got so overplayed at radio that people couldn't stand to hear it anymore. I'm a Carrie fan and I got that way. Just flipped to another station for it was played too much. But now? It was on the radio yesterday morning and it was nice to hear it again and know why I loved it in the first place..
I love Carrie. Great singer and now most positive person out there to help change the world. But, some of the best songs were earlier in the year. I wonder if GAC can just keep an account of the votes all year on a song and would know the top 50 songs through that way instead of voting here at the end when people will vote for the most current songs. I know some songs have been on the voting page forever it seems as they are continually voted. But I wonder if some are taken off after a given time and that would throw off the counting throughout the year. Anyway, I wish some of the earlier songs in the year were in the top 10.
IT's hard: Loved Tim in "Blind Side"; but the most emotional performance was Carrie's "Change" on CNN's Tribute to Heroes Special.
I remember in an interview she once said she was more interested in the quiet ones than the ones that brag about themselves. Well, she found that quiet one in Mike. His Dad's a minister and Mike has a camp for kids in need that he works at each year. He's a very good guy, good Christian and with him being quiet too..well, it's a complete match. Congratulations Carrie and Mike!
