Rowena, I understand. I find three times a week difficult some weeks. I used to beat myself up about it. Now if I don\\\'t feel like it, I don\\\'t worry about it. If I feel burnt out, I just don\\\'t post. Happy blogging, Jenn

Rana, I absolutely agree. Online has made marketing more affordable, but everyone one is not online and we need not forget about offline marketing that can bring our business success. Find people are of like mind and go where they are. Thank you for commenting, Jenn

Wordzopolis : Are you Preventing Your Current Customers from Becoming Loyal Customers?

Gustavo, I agree that it is so very easy to forget about current customers when on the hunt for new customers and trying to entice them to become customers. I truly makes good business sense to understand the value of our current customers and how they can actually help us grow our businesses by giving us more business and referring business to us. Thanks for your comment, Happy blogging, Jenn

Jeannette. I agree that an email is better than nothing at all. People are no longer using snail mail and it is becoming a lost art to send a handwritten note. A handwritten note is so much more personal and shows that you put some effort and care in letting a person know that you appreciate them. Happy blogging, Jenn

Susan, Thanks for you comment and observing can really give you a lot of information about potential customers. I have a neighbor who always says, Pay attention and get an A, she applies to all areas of life, not just school. This is a chance for business owners to pay attention and get an A. If you pay attention long enough you will see a common pattern and learn with is literal and what needs to be interpreted, just like when paying attention to people in person, you learn to read the signs.
Alexis, It is easy to get busy and forget about our current customers, especially when on the hunt for new one. It is true that it costs less to keep customers then to find new ones in time and money. Plus current customers can give more business to you and refer others to your business who are likely to do business with you because they trust the person who referred them. Don\\\'t let someone get your customers because they think you don\\\'t care. It is easy to show the love, as easy as sending a card saying I appreciate you and not a email but a actual card. Happy blogging, Jenn

Catarina, Its not just online bullies but people are losing jobs over what is being posted online. I do not think enough people give enough though to what they put online and how it can impact their lives. People are very judgmental and even though what you did may not have any thing to do with your business, a potential client may frown upon seeing you drunk and dancing with underwear on your head. Business owners have to be careful about running personal blogs also, don\\\'t want clients or prospects reading things that could keep you from getting business. Jenn

Sherryl, I agree that businesses need to treat online networking like offline networking and show up where potential clients are hanging out. Business owners should not forget about actual networking, it still does wonders for developing relationships especially locally. Jenn

Jeannette,

welcome and thank you for your comment and Susan does provide excellent tips on her blog and I am glad that you enjoyed the interview.

I agree that marketing does not begin and end with social media. Businesses need to learn to effectively integrate traditional marketing methods with social media marketing to have a greater impact. Limit your social media efforts to a few chosen outlets and work in creating success with those efforts.

Thanks again,
Jenn

There are so many resources available, there is no reason for a person not to be able to market their business and that having a simple easy to execute plan is the way to go, don\\\'t over complicate things and stick with tactics that enjoyable.
Keyuri, Thank you for your comment and many people are afraid of marketing. Starting with friends and family is a great place to start, you\\\'d be surprised at who they may know. Most friends and family want to help their loved ones succeed and it could help you gain business while you working on your marketing plan and figuring out how you really want to market your business. Focus on what you really enjoy. Good luck, Jenn

Sabline, I think it is best to start with free tools to educate yourself and understand what you are trying to achieve. Marketing is something that anyone can do, it does not have to be complicated especially for the average small business owner. Thank you for commenting, Jenn

Susan, Thank you for your comment. I agree that they should begin with their customers and who they are trying to reach and keep things a simple as possible. They also need to understand that it takes time, it is not like running an advertisement where you will probably see immediate results. Jenn
