Amen to "The Departed"! I'm guessing from your accents comment (and your screen name) that you too are a Bostonian (or at least a local, I'm in Foxboro).

I rewatched a real classic the other day; "The Friends of Eddie Coyle" and Robert Mitchum does a good job with the accent.

I posted this comment in another thread, but I think it's worth re-posting;

A buddy and I were discussing the remake the other day. We're both fans of the original. Saw it in the theatre together actually, and neither of us have high expectations.

We theorized that it'll be the students of the Che Guerra Alternative School led by their former social worker turned teacher/New Age guru against the forces of the evil Tea Party Separatists. The students will use their diversity and sky-high self esteem to battle the all white, SUV driving, resource-destroying invaders. Of course a light-skinned community activist will play the Powers Booth role, rallying the students to join with the Weather Underground and ACLU to finally vanquish their foes in a dramatic Supreme Court case where Thomas, Roberts and Alito are run through with an Rainbow flag by Sotomayor.

A number of years ago I worked with a wonderful woman whose husband had played for the LA Rams. At the time Jane Russell's husband, Bob Waterfield, was the Rams quarterback. She had numerous photos of them all lounging around the pool at their house. This was the mid 40's and Jane was absolutely beautiful. Much more natural looking in the (b&w) photos than in her publicity shots.

She also mentioned that the team was often used as extras in movies because they were all athletic, all American looking guys.

What was once a consistently great channel has devolved into UFOs, bigfoot and CGI representations of the earth falling apart after humans are gone.

Pawn Stars is entertaining in that it is somewhat a trailer park version of 'Antiques Roadshow'.
