What I would like to see is the evidence to back up your argument.
What are the good reasons DFiD or HMG have to not lend a humanitarian hand?
I realise that we can't solve every disaster but, you do make very pertinent points about there not being such a personal connection to Haiti in the UK - we spent more money on the Pakistan quake in one month than we have in six months of Haiti.... The fact we have a strong Pakistan connection is a factor in that. But Haiti is no lesser a tragedy. There are more dead in a tiny patch of land in the Caribbean than there are in the whole of the South Asian tsunami disaster of 2004.
