WildB With only 100 out of 720 (avg.) /month they'd have to have some sort of battery backup unless they're going to go with a grid intertie. Most battery backups have 500 charge/discharge cycle lives so there are on going costs associated with RE.
For most of us, weatherization, energy-efficient products, etc. offer a better payoff but it would be nice to divorce ourselves from the grid and still maintain our present lifestyle.

This church (sic) has been quite active: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westboro_Baptist_Chu... and without the shaved heads and swastikas, rather successful. They've been able to comply with existing law to spread their message. Scarey.
P.S. scroll down to March 30, 2010, where it adds insult to injury.

How come it takes nine months to collect 1000 petition signatures? The only results of the election nine months from now will be the new Mayor and city council members that will replace the ones who sign on to your edict.

If it's currently supporting itself why is there a problem about state funding?
BTW, thanks for the NYTimes link. Interesting article I just might keep in my bookmarks folder. Just personal observation: It (sad) funny we can create such technology to stave off the onset of death but shirk at the unintended consequences in social and legal areas. Troubling.

There are several floors of patient rooms that seem to go unused and wonder why some place that size could not offer more eclectic services.
St. johns seems to have a stranglehold on delivering even the most basic of medical services. Perhaps a little competition wouldn't be a good thing.
Sleep therapy for the VA? When I was in the problem was not getting enough sleep, LOL (Yes, I know it is a disorder, but I didn't have it, only after having children)

420 full, 40 part time to care for 50 patients? That's a 9 to 1 ratio that would put any health care facility in the red fast. Besides 13 other facilities may well be doing the same job for less overhead.
MRC is missing an opportunity to diversify into more than a head injury treatment facility alone. Although I have no idea why they can't do that though.
Perhaps the Sister of No Mercy or the MHA have exclusive rights to deliever health care?

An obscure study (I've tried to find the link, but failed so you'll have to take my word for it) from NZ said they've proved that obese people emit pheromones when consuming fattening meals that waft over to trigger the hunger response in nearby people. Bammo! Second hand Fat! It took from 1964 for FHS to 1987 to announce SHS. Another ten years and we'll have pheromones sticking to clothing and third hand fat.
At my last physical I tipped in at 192# and 6'1" (yes, I know, you didn't know they could stack dung that high) and was asked if I'd consider going on a weight control program!
