Hi Cate, Rosemary is great because it's very hearty (seems to be the consensus) and will tolerate being planted in a pot exclusively (and thereby kept alive all year) or can go in the ground in the spring/summer, then come indoors before the first frost and live in a pot through the winter. Perfect for adding a little something to those hearty winter meals -- or a personal favorite, Rosemary bread! Wow, yum! Pumpkins! I have to try that. All I can think of is pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll.. mmm.

Hey there, sorry I'm just getting to responding to this now! I'm normally more on top of things :) I would love to see some of your posts or share tips on gardening - I'm pretty new to it and am just learning what works/what dies... I'm working on an email back to you, too, by the way re: 31dbbb... talk with you soon! Michelle

Hey Monika, you're totally right, they are truly different worlds! It takes some time, but it's certainly possible to get comfortable and score some great deals. (and no shipping/waiting!). Just following you on twitter now, noticed you're in marketing also! Will have to keep in touch :)

Hi Serene, Good question, I now realize my photo is a bit misleading. What you're seeing (the 4 pieces) are actually what you cut OFF so that you are left with a cross, basically. Does that make sense? If not, I can see if I can find a photo of it in that state. Happy to help in any way I can!

Hi Karen, Nice! I love transforming furniture and spaces while keeping it low budget, I wouldn't have it any other way. I have some more "before and afters" coming soon so stay tuned. I just hopped over to your blog, too, by the way. Take care!

I'm with you there, I like the ability to demonstrate some subtle sarcasm via twitter but right on for the bathroom updates, no one needs to know that :) By the way, I'm checking out your site now, I'm normally so lost with beauty products... what a great source of inspiration!

Thanks, Kelsey. I love that ottomans can be so versatile and easily upgraded - so definitely pull yours out of storage. The great thing is that slipcover can be an inexpensive way to experiment with lots of looks (and maybe some puppy friendly fabric), good luck!

Hi Sara, trust me, when I started out I was convinced I had a knack for killing ALL plants. I now swear by potted herbs and small beds to start with, though. With the potted herbs, you can always move them around to test out the best spot (or bring them inside early in the season) and as long as you have draining pots, they will just use the water they need. Watering has been the only "chore". Having them has been amazing for some of the great summer dishes - even livening up a salad! Thanks for stopping by :)
