You got that right. I wouldn't doubt we will have some sort of stupid reunion when the Dodgers come to town welcoming them back to the new and improved Ebbets Field.

I'm sorry. We have a lamented past? Compared to the Yankees maybe. But since 1969, Philly, Florida and NY have 2 World Series championships and Atlanta has 1. Washington/Montreal none. I'll be the first to say the Mets mess a lot of things up. They do. But there are franchises that have never won or haven't won in 100 years that have more pride in themselves than we do. I'm sorry but a museum featuring some of the greats from the late 60's/early 70's, mid 80's, late 90's would be interesting to see especially considering most are still alive. Rare world series footage, pictures, memorabilia, maybe some items from Shea would be cool. It doesn't have to be the size of the baseball hall of fame. But c'mon. Give us something that we can say this is our history. Be proud.

What happened to hitting to the opposite field when there are men on base? Isn't that what the point of those drills were? I know a few balls were hit right at people yesterday but a man on 3rd with less than two out should be almost automatically a run. All you need is a fly ball. When a man comes up with one out and doesn't advance the cause I look at it as his fault. It is a lot more difficult with 2 out because he has to get a hit. The man before does not.

Several teams have museums including the Reds, Yankees and Dodgers. I think it is cool for the fans to go to a place and look through the history of the team. Considering the Mets have really 1 hall of famer and virtually no retired numbers, you would think we never had talent. But then look at guys like Dykstra, Backman, Hernandez, Straw, Carter, Ray Knight and Hojo to just see some of the incredible talent that has been here over time. They can have video's replaying some of the great moments, the 9/11 HR by Piazza, the Grand Slam single by Ventura as well as chronicle the 73, 69 and even the horrible teams of the early 60's and 90's. I have posters and signed balls by absolutely horrible Mets teams that mean something to me. It would be especially nice to put all of that together in one place to at least balance the JR Rotunda and Ebbets Field look to our stadium.

The Inaugural Mets patch on the jersey is an embarrassment. Absolutely horrible. It looks like a kid designed it. The one on the hat is nice. I think the patch should look like the rotunda area to give that classic look instead of blue and orange blocks that say inaugural season 2009.
