Big Government : 2010 Republican Election Message: Clear, Practical and Limited

The message should be: Reduced Spending, Lower Taxes, Smaller more Efficient Governemnt starting with Independent Audits, Repeal of EPA and other unconstitutional agencies, Wellfare Reform, Section 8 repeal. The candidate that wants my vote will need to take a stand against the leaches in our society that our bring the entire country down to their level, just because you are too lazy, fat, stupid, on drugs, etc. to work, it does not mean the government gets to take 35% of my paycheck and pass it out to you and all your scumbag friends. You can survive off of min. wage, you might not have a car, all the new "it" things , or 6 kids, but it can be done. Pretty soon there will be more takers than there are producers.

Big Government : Obama to California 'Water, Its Not a Right its a Privilege'

That's a really good idea, it's exactly what liberals would do. They would act radical. We are going to have to adopt some of their tactics in order to defeat these radical ideas. The crazy far left have infiltrated our schools, most t.v programs, government at all levels, and corporations. Why are WE THE MAJORITY letting the minority of ecco nuts make us jump through hoops just to live our lives? It's rediculous! The insanity has to STOP! Is anyone else sick of waiting in stupid @$$ lines to get your drivers license, tags, register for school, etc.? The same idiotic people that make you wait in line for an hour to get a number to stand in another line, want to take over our healthcare system, the same people that would rather starve 35,000 people than kill a minnow. We need to set up a PAC for the farmers, sue the government, and take it to the federal court. Sincerely, Sick of LIBERAL B.S.

Big Government : New Gov't Report Demonstrates Superiority of Private Sector in Controlling Health Costs

So you know first hand that government healthacre does not work. TennCare started in the early 90's and every other year they have to cut the size of the program. You can't give people free healthcare b/c they abuse it. In Memphis we have The Church Health Center, which was founded on doctor's volunteering their service and time. If you need to see a specialist, they will refer you and your appointment will be based on the severeness of your illness. The plan cost $45 a month and if you have to be hospitalized, you go to Methodist University Hospital (where Steve Jobs had his surgery) for free. The MemphisPlan currently covers over 47,000 peopleand you do have to wait longer, but you DO get care. If other cities adopted this program wouldn't that help put a dent in our healthcare problems? All options should be on the table.....

Big Government : Reason.tv: We're The TSA And You Can Count On Us!

TSA employees have the same attitude as the workers at the DMV, I think they like the fact that they are in charge and they let the power go to their heads. I was at the DMV two weeks ago and I've never witnessed such rude behavoir before in my life. There were no cellphones, food, or drinks allowed in the building. A young lady, who had a baby with her, was told at the door she could not enter with her child's baby bottle. About an hour later, the same young lady's telephone rang and she answered it because it was her babysitter and you would have thought she had committed murder. The security guard SCREAMED at her from across the room and threatened to kick her out if she didn't hang up the phone. The security guards were big bullies and totally abusing their power.

Big Government : Don't Worry, It's Only $400-600 Million to Try Terrorists in NYC

I've got an idea, why don't we put these guys on trial in one of the most expensive cities in the world? Oh, wait that's what we're already doing. If they absolutely have to prosecute in U.S. Courts, could they not have went to Idaho or Arkansas where it is very remote and the cost wouldn't be as high. When this all of this is said and done, I'm sure the total price tag will be $1 Billion. So the rest of the country will have to pay to stimulate the NYC economy. I'm so sick of paying for things that do not affect my community or state. As taxpayers, we subsidize the new NYC tunnel, the subway, Amtrak in the New England area, and i'm sure there are many more examples. I live in Memphis, TN. We don't have subways or mass transit, yet we pay for it. Each year Congress diverts more and more money from the general highway fund to mass transit, are they trying to make it where the roads are undrivable and we will be forced to take public transportation? Is it just me and the area I live in, or have you all noticed that most of our roads are in very poor shape and a hazard to safety?

It doesn't matter if EVERYONE in this country has insurance, if you have a huge demand for care and a limited amount of doctors to provide the care, the price of the care will continue to rise and the supply will decrease. What are these idiots thinking? I wonder if the cost to the states for the expansion of Medicaid is included in the healthcare price tag? The Federal Gov. wants to expand states Medicaid programs for lower income people, that's their BIG fix for the healthcare system. It's getting to the point that I can hardly read the news, everyday it's something new, a new tax, EPA regulation, CA farmers experiencing drought because of a minnow, terrorist attacks, Cap-N-Trade, healthcare, TARP, Auto bailouts, Stimulus, Omnibus, Supplemental Spending, Raising the debt ceiling, the list could go on and on! Sincerely, Sick and Tired of Washington B.S.

Big Government : ObamaCare Transparency Promise Broken

You are right, but the Republicans have definitely been the lesser of two evils. The Republicans never tried to nationalize 1/6th of our economy or place or tax anything that emits CO2, I know that most politicians are liars, but we have to elect people that we think can beat the Dems running for office. If America fails to get rid of the Dems majorities in Congress in the 2010 elections, we are truely doomed. This will no longer be the USA, it will be the socialistic utopia liberals have been dreaming of since the early 1900's. Progressives and Liberals have slowly been eroding our constitution to the point where passing unconstitutional laws are the norm and easily accepted by most Americans because they "keep us safe". The bad politicians do need to go, but we have got to get rid of the Dems majority or we won't have a country left. Look at what they've done in lees than a year.

Big Government : Mayo Clinic to Stop Accepting Medicare Patients

Hospitals end up jacking up the price of everything from tampons and bandaids to MRI's and x-rays to make-up for the fact that the government is only going to pay them for a small % of what things really cost. In high school I broke my leg and we didn't have insurance, I went to the ER , got x-rays, and there were so few doctors, a nurses assitant and another patient wrappedmy foot w/gauze. The bill from the ER was over $2,000. The fee for the visit to the specialist, the x-rays, and the cast cost $550. The hospital tried to charge $700 for the splint (ace bandage) and another $300 for gauze. My mother called them and told them they'd lost their minds and she wasn't paying it. They eventually lowered the bill, but isn't it people's responsibilty to take care of themselves? Nothing in life is free and the cost always show up somewhere else.
