The San Angelo, Texas TEA Party received one of those letters about a year ago. After weighing options, the SATP decided to go as a regular corporation, not a non-profit because the income in and money out would just about equal zero and there would be no taxes to pay at the end of a year. Others might think about doing that. Just make sure there is no actual "income." It also frees up the TEA Party to actually get involved more politically.
Uh, I don't think they will be patroling anywhere in Texas! I guarantee you, we Texans are completely FED UP with the whole Obamanation and are preparing for the worst. Yeah, we have our city-slickers in Houston, Dallas, Austin, etc. and the pansys in Austin, but the majority of the Texas people are very independent and will not stand for the Federal Government, especially under Obama, coming in and telling us what to do. We WILL fight to the end! We did it before, we can do it again!
Nah, don't need to take cover! Christ will take the Christians away before things get really bad!
Therefore, you can imagine just how horrified I was when I saw the "political cartoon" in the Times today. I have never felt such heartbreak, such shame. You, Mr. Editor, allowed or approved of this abomination of a cartoon and you should be ashamed. You have desecrated the most sacred of all American symbols. The Statue of Liberty is not Republican or Democrat, right-wing or left-wing. She is a symbol for all, not just a few..all. You have cheapened her image. You have made a laughing-stock out of her to all other nations. You, sir, are shameful. You have used Our Lady to try to advance your political views and for that, you should apologize to the entire nation!

This just cements my opinion that the New York Times needs to be included in the media boycott! Lets put the Times out of business!
When my friend and I rode the ferry to Liberty Island, it was cold, raining and the wind was blowing tremendously, but that would never stop us from seeing the Lady for ourselves. Growing up in West Texas, we were taught about the Statue, saw pictures of her, and most of us thought we would never be able to see her in person. But, there I was, standing on Liberty Island, in the wind and rain, freezing, staring up at the most beautiful sight I could have imagined. My heart swelled with pride and my eyes watered with tears which ran down my face, mixing with the rain that dripped off my chin. Nothing could have been more beautiful right at that moment. In fact, in writing this letter, my eyes are again tearing up with the thought of the majesty of that beautiful Lady who welcomes all to America.

If you have not heard, the New York Times today printed a political cartoon depicting the Statue of Liberty welding a whip, to indicate that the United States abuses terrorists and prisoners. I was horrified! I could not sit back and let the Times Editor get away with that and I hope you guys won't either.

I am from San Angelo, Texas. I had the priviledge of visiting New York in 2006. There were 2 things that were must, non-negotiable, sites my friend and I had to visit. The first was Ground Zero. The second was the Country's statue, the Statue of Liberty
My family came from Ireland and the first thing they saw before landing at Ellis Island, was that glorious lady standing in the harbor, welcoming them to a Country where they had opportunities that they never would have had back home. To them and thousands of other immigrants, the Statue of Liberty exemplified the United States and all that the United States stood for.

Yeah, the have the proverbial "Veil" before their eyes and only God can remove it. But! That doesn't mean we can't keep at them because sooner or later, God will use one little word from us to cause that veil to drop!
Here in San Angelo, Texas, we had about 15 democratic counter-protesters. After a little while of listening to our tea party, 2 of those counter-protesters laid down their signs and came and joined our tea party!
I would liberally (no pun intended) estimate the sideliners to tea partiers to be about 1000 to 1 but that would also include good Christian conservatives or independents who just haven't quite woke up yet. I still have great faith that there are a whole lot more of us than there of THEM. But most of us have jobs and are busy being good parents and grandparents and just haven't been paying attention to the political realm as we should have been. But we are waking up and the more Obama does to destroy this country, the more we come awake!
The left is running scared and all they have for defense is to call us names and make us look stupid or trivialize us. Well, they sure have another thing coming! But we have got to get out there and bring more people into the fold. Little does the left know, everytime they open their mouths against us or everytime Obama does something new, they alienate more and more people from them and send them to us! Keep it up lefties...we need more people in our unhinged mob!
