Eveyr cyclist on the road in traffic, is one more person vulnerable to lifelong injury and death just to appease car haters. My experience with cyclists: some are very aware of the rules of the road; many others are arrogant thinking they own the road and have to obey the rules of the road only when it suits them. Others still are amateurs and should not even be close to traffic being influenced by political peer pressure to get on the road for health and environmental concerns.
Breitbart did not fire the woman. He did not play the video to get her fired. He did not encourage her firing. He played the video to show how the audience (an NAACP audience) reacted when hearing of her pre-redemptive behavior (that they did not know at the time). Lesson focus: Just as the Tea Party is smeared daily for undocumented behavior (called "evidence", for the sake of the uneducated elites), the organization doing the smearing is not exactly even keel when it come to their own prejudices and bigotry. The NAACP then went off half-cocked to get Ms Sherrod fired when they could have investigated the video more fully before opening their big mouths and demanding her resignation. I feel sorry for her firing as she did change her ways and the White House also jumped the gun. (I love redemption stories that turn out well.) They could just as easily pointed out that Ms. Sherrod's change of heart was the type of change we all need to consider. They could have made it a teachable, uplifting post-racial moment. Instead, they chose to act impulsively, defensively, and stupidly. That seems to be their basic MO.
Stone: a useful idiot used by an idiot (Chavez). When's the wedding?
Remember that song from Hair, the musical, "Easy to be Hard"? Your essay has the same message:
How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold
How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no
And especially people
Who care about strangers
Who care about evil
And social injustice
Do you only
Care about the bleeding crowd?
How about a needing friend?
I need a friend
How can people be so heartless
You know I'm hung up on you
Easy to give in
Easy to help out
And especially people
Who care about strangers
Who say they care about social injustice
Do you only
Care about the bleeding crowd
How about a needing friend?
I need a friend
How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no
Obamasize her salary; redistribute the wealth and let others feed their families.
Just wanted to add that I am part of the Tea Party movement and we are sick of the addiction of all the politicians for spending the people's money as if it is an infinite pool. The Republicans are closer to many of the Tea Party movement's core principles: What they have preached in the past is in line with the Tea Party's thinking. But so many have reneged on those core commitments to limited government and we now need to renew the call for the end of socialism for the poor and the rich. I am just tired of having such idiots as Pelosi in power -- the lunatics have taken over and we are now primed to destroy the very greatness of the American promise. The fact that Pelosi could mouth that Tea Partiers have more in common with Democrats than Republicans is infuriating.
This is one dumb woman. Evil and wrong.
Obama is surrounded by radicals and communists and even his Christmas tree displays this leaning. Either he is a communist sympathizer, or just a plain old fool surrounded by those who are the antithesis of what America was founded on: Liberty and the inherent sanctity of the individual.
Another scare article by Seth-I'm-wtih-the-global-warming-alarmist-camp Borenstein. I don't care who you are but read other contrary articles; find out what crap statistical garbage these projections are based upon. Then let the global warming religionists go the the hell they so richly deserve. I'm sick of their manipulation of the media. Time to say no to hysteria and junk science.
Sorry, but there is no egg on their face, at least not for having innocently goofed en masse. Egg on one's face is a metaphor used to describe someone who makes a mistake and is embarrassed or shamed by the error. This assumes a sense of shame. And shame assumes a conscience rooted in some principles of right and wrong, in this case as it relates to ideals of fairness. I have to conclude that it is just not bias, just being in the sphere of liberalism and having a slant. There was no error here. For me, it is now apparent that what we have been witnessing in this country as it relates to the dominant media, embodied by these major newspapers and tv stations is raw, viscious, outright malfeasance. The only shame they might feel is if they get caught. I'm sorry for getting caught, not I'm sorry for lying. It is anti-news and this is more than just the propaganda.of point of view. It is the attack on everything this country stands for: decency, justice, fair play, the foundations of our country that rest on the edifice of liberty and the responsibility it carries. Certainly, as plain as day, it is anti-American.
