Some of my friends are absolutely obsessed with their Facebook pages. One friend in particular seems to have completely regressed back to high school. It's kind of sad to witness. Like you, (I think?) I prefer to keep up with my real friends in the here and now. There is a reason I lost touch with many people from high school, I just don't have anything in common with them anymore. I am still very good friends with some of my high school friends though... in the real world. I actually SEE them on a regular basis. And there is no creepy company keeping track of my interactions with them.

I deleted my Facebook page last week. My dog's is still up though. I often wonder how many of the 900 million profiles on Facebook belong to dogs and cats. Good luck marketing to my dog Facebook!

Remember nearly four years ago when he claimed his administration would be the most open administration in history? Remember when he said he wanted to bring bipartisanship back to DC? I’d lol but it’s not funny.

It doesn't make sense to me either. All along the attorney general has been telling congress that this does not go as far up as the president. A year ago he (AG Holdeer) was telling congress that he had never heard of fast and furious, much less had the president heard of it. Now they are asserting executive privilege? That would imply that the president was involved. It seems to me that this only opens up a larger can of worms and begs many more questions.

KATU - Portland, OR : Analysis: Oregon economic growth among the best in US | Business | KATU.com - Portland News, Sports,

Yep. Last month (or the month before?) when the Oregon rate of unemployment went down, it triggered a cut-off point for extended benefits. Many people that are still unemployed don't have jobs, but since they are no longer receiving benefits they are not counted in the numbers anymore. So the rate went down, not because of a huge increase in employment, but in-part because of the way people are NOT counted anymore. A good friend of mine just lost his benefits due to this. He's been looking hard for a job for a long time, now he's frantically looking, still no luck.

You are correct. That's exactly to what I was referring. As far as the H1-B visas... If we had people educated enough to fill these positions they wouldn't have to go looking so far away. I know for a fact that they hire Americans who qualify and pay them quite well. I rent out a condo near the Ronler plant. A new Stanford grad rents it from me. She gets $100,000 a year, plus benefits straight out of school. Not bad. I'm sure they do segregate their contract workers too. What high-tech company is going to risk their secrets to contract employees that may be gone tomorrow? It's an extremely competitive industry with risks of corporate espionage. I wouldn't let the temps anywhere near my secrets either. It’s not Jim Crow, it’s protective.

I agree with many of the comments above. This isn't a case of bullying or extreme bullying. It is a case of multiple crimes perpetrated against this boy. Hopefully appropriate charges will be filed and the perpetrators will learn their lesson in custody.

Showing your idiocy again... Apparently when you were (supposedly) living near the stadium all you did was listen to the high school band play there, or possibly complain about it. Why? IT'S CENTURY HIGH SCHOOL'S HOME FIELD. That's not a good use for it though you say? Well, it's also used by the Hillsboro Girls Softball Association, Thunder Softball, Rose City Softball Association, youth lacrosse teams and the Special Olympics. The Amateur Softball Association will be holding its tournament there this year. Portland State University, Pacific University and Central Catholic all used the field while their facilities were being upgraded. The OSAA uses it for the state football playoffs and for (yes) state high school band competitions. But that’s just a few of the things that happen there; I'm leaving many, many things out. Oh, yeah. I almost forgot to mention... This under utilized stadium (in your words) needed an expansion in 2000 due to the need for more seating given the popularity of the venue. They had to add 3,000 seats to bring the total to a little more than 7,000. But no one actually needs the stadium, right? Idiot.

"You have a stadium already and it's empty most of the year." I don't care one way or another about the Timbers and the use of the stadium in Portland but your statement about the use of the stadium in Hillsboro shows you have no idea what you are talking about. I live near the stadium in Hillsboro and I'm always amazed at how busy that place is. There seems to be something going on there nearly every day and/or evening. I thought Hillsboro was a bit crazy when they originally built it but I have been surprised at how well used it is. You have no idea of what you speak Spanky.

Yeah, we do seem to be on the same page regarding the analysis of the voting. I remember the days when you couldn't tell a reporter's bias one way or another. Now they seem to wear their bias on their sleeves but try to tell us they aren’t biased at all. It really shouldn't matter what a person’s political affiliation is, they should still want the straight story so they can decide how to feel about it. But you're probably right, they target their audience. So yes, I think we are in agreement. It's still sad that reporting is so biased. Even from the Associated Press (where this article originated.)

Well, a bit more than 40% of the Democrats would rather vote for people who have no chance of winning either. I think in both cases it just indicates that voters are fed up with all politicians, no matter whether they are dem or repub. As an unaffiliated voter it just bothers me that only one side of the story is being told and this is not an isolated incident. It reflects poorly on Obama, Romney and ALL politicians, but especially the press.

If you read the article it clearly stated that he was not running unopposed. He had three other challengers on the ballot. (Albeit, the others have dropped out). As usual, the AP conveniently left these little factiods out of the article: Romney still did much better than the president did. Obama only received 58% of the Democrat vote in Arkansas. He lost 42% of the vote to a relatively unknown challenger, John Wolfe http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/AR/39376/... The president had almost the exact same reults in Kentucky, but looks worse. He lost 42% of the Democrat vote to "uncommitted". http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/KY/38672/... This is the best one. Obama only took 59% of the Democrat vote in the West Viginia primary. The other candidate took 41% of the vote. The other candidate (Keith Judd) is an inmate in a Texas prison! http://apps.sos.wv.gov/elections/results/results.... All the links are to official state election division websites. What people should be asking themselves is "Why isn't any of this reported in the news?" You know it would be reported had this been Bush. But because it's a democrat they won't even think of mentioning it. You really can't trust everything you read, because only half of the story is reported anymore.
