WMPoweruser.com : Poll: New hardware every 12 months, or spread throughout the year

If OEMs would actually put more work into real quality hardware the devices would keep a long-lasting value. If you like it or not, that´s one reason Apple is so popular. Actually I think this is going to change a bit now Nokia´s on board, we all know they can build great hardware.

I think a 12-month hardware refresh-cycle is best, because it allows to really optimize and integrate hardware and software _together_ which is exactly what Apple does. It just makes sense. And as Robert Scoble recently wrote, consumers mostly choose a platform because of apps and services, not so much because of the hardware. And MS´s definitely good at that.

Tiny percentage? Apple has 20% share of the private consumer PC market in the US. The success of their iDevices clearly propelled Mac sales, if you like it or not.

You´re right, but Android 3.0 supports Dual-Core CPUs and iOS 5 is likely to support them, too. Microsoft even announced dual-core phones BEFORE WP7 came out; sometime back in 2009 Andy Lees mentioned it in an interview. Nobody of you remembers?!

as far as I can tell from videos showing 2.2 and 2.3 it is fast enough to be used. Let´s wait and see what 3.0 brings.

But we know Microsoft worked together with Qualcomm on Snapdragon support. Maybe MS does in fact NOT allow other CPUs at the moment, because they are still working on drivers for those..? I mean look at all the Android devices with dual-core. If you´re right, then why didn´t HTC, Samsung, LG etc. announce dual-core counterparts with WP7?? Looks like this will be a topic at MIX in april, which is a bit sad (not a real deal-breaker though, the slow update cycle is.)

You are right, not having these services in other countries is even worse! For me though c&p is super important and I´m lucky to have at least Xbox Live and Zune Videos working here (Zune pass is still limited to US&UK...)

Wow, you are getting personal here my friend. Yes I _am_ using WP7 for a week now and C&P is the no.1 thing missing for me. It's just a shame that a company as big as Microsoft can't do a proper implementation o a feature that has been around for DECADES. Lots of you think I'm a fanboy well actually I'm more of a MS fanboy than an Apple fanboy but it sms like you kids can't handle honest criticism (even when it's not targeted at you..)

No, definitely not. This industry is fast and dynamic and there are lots of things a company can make wrong. But having version of something so basic as cut-copy-paste that does NOT stack up to the main competition (iOS and Android) is an indication that there might STILL be the wrong people working on MS mobile division. Also, no I don´t only use it for URLs and phone numbers. I realized I use cut/copy/paste really heavily on my iPhone4 and I hoped Microsoft would bring some concepts from the Courier over to WP7 (wouldn´t have been that hard).

I watched the on-demand version of the video and fast forwarded when this woman came up... okay, seems like Microsoft screwed this. Why can´t we have "select all" as well as "cut" buttons? We´re in the year 2011 Microsoft, this shows that there are still the wrong people behind this product. Seriously, copy&paste has been around for ages now and we all know that MS employees are carrying iPhones too (or rather have been). This is the biggest fail of WP7 history so far!

Nice app! I really want to buy it but unfortunately I don´t have a credit card - if someone from Microsoft reads this - PLEASE ADD PAYPAL !!! (and yes, I will now spam every tech site in the universe until MS reacts to this intolerable state of payment options. Payment has to be super easy otherwise the platform will be dead sooner or later.)

WMPoweruser.com : Windows Phone 7 update rumours–a Samsung Omnia coming to CDMA, no Compass API until second hal

Doesn't sound really good... also what about better hardware? Dualcore Android phones with 4G are beginning to flood the market and we're stuck with the same old chipsets?! And what about multitasking? For me the back button often wotks great but then there are times I just want to double tap the Windows logo like the iPhones home button.... But the thing that annoys me the most atm is marketplace. WHY THE HELL can I only pay with credit card AD 2011 ?!?!!? Prepaid cards or Paypal is a must IMHO. If MS can't add it I might just ditch my Mozart again.

WMPoweruser.com : Game Review: Flight Control

First of all, the graphics are actually quite nice and with much attention to detail. But what you really missed is the fact that this version doesn´t have multiplayer, due to WP7´s limitations. Playing Flight Control with say an iPhone and an iPad is really fun. I hope MS adds bluetooth multiplayer ASAP !!!
