Usually I end up writing about 300-350 words for a blog post. But, some times I exceed the 500 mark while expressing but some times I can even touch the 200 mark. Occasional short posts are OK, but if it becomes a habit, one may lose its readers

Traffic traffic and traffic is what is mainly needed to monetize the blog. If you don't have traffic you are left nowhere. But, if you own a blog that gets traffic , then you may add ads and get money if some one clicks them. I agree.. content is king.. But provided its unique. Nice article. It will surely help the people around. This topic is open ended and every day or the other a new method comes in ;)

The best way that works for me is building quality backlinks and unique content. Unique content is king. Once we have unique content, we can linked automatically. Regular post ensures that. Other than that, i prefer submission to directories and other methods mentioned here, I think it feels good once we start getting regular traffic, but feels awesome when we get them increasing ;)

For me , adsense seems the best option. It gives the ads related to the content..
I believe adsense is best if you are getting good traffic and the site is within the rules of Adsense.
But, other methods are great too ..
