Big Government : Judge Rules Against #Occupy Protesters, Ends Occupation of Private Park

The audacity of the occupy protestors is amazing. How dare them think that they are above the law and above everyone else. Who do they think they are? Can you imagine if Obama protestors had done this? What would the occupy folks say about it? The same thing everyone is saying about them: GET OUT!

This is just another reason we need strict term limits. Career Congressmen become absolutely too into themselves and greed begins to infect them.

Big Journalism : Why Is the Media Glossing Over Child Rape?

It will have a huge impact, as well it should. When you have a coverup just because the person is well liked, then you will have a backlash. However, if the community had condemned this to begin with, then the impact would have been lessened. Students rioting didn't help, the community "supporting" him also didn't help. They are the victim of their own actions. You also did very much compare it to 9/11. Your own words were, "I've talked to a great many people there this week, and it reminds me of 9/11. They are horrified, shocked...illusions shattered. It all descended on them so rapidly, they're having a great deal of trouble sorting it out." I still say that though you are trying to focus on "reactions" the reactions are still not the least bit the same. Suffice it to say that we will agree to disagree on that point. As for jobs, internships and other such things, I will agree that it is a shame. It's just that this is not the first time something of this nature has influenced a local economy and it certainly will not be the last. When you rely too much on one particular entity for economic value it is destined to fail, eventually. The first thing that comes to mind are military base closures. We were Army and we lived in some of those towns. Closures were devastating, but local towns relying on the Army for income were a slave to the military bases by their own making. In the end, they will get through it. It may take time, but they will.

Big Government : From Now on I Dedicate Myself to Making Barack Obama Happy

There is a reason Americans make fun of the French government all the time (I'm sure you've heard the 'Did you hear about the new French flag? It's all white!' joke). Their judgement history does not have a good running record, and now we get to add this. As for Obama, I've said before that he is Barney Fife and I stand by that today; he proves it moment after moment and day after day. What can you really expect from a Barney Fife running a country? Obama is intelligence challenged, broken clock or not. I'm with you on working so Obama doesn't have to "deal" with people (like us) that he doesn't like, which is pretty much anyone he doesn't agree with.

The problem here, with your comment, is that no one is denying the "shock" to the community. Where has that been said? What YOU must understand is that it is an abomination that the students and community members are rallying to Paterno's side. How can you possibly compare this to 9/11? When that happened, which Americans were rioting in favor of the terrorists? I know of none. That's a ridiculous analogy to make. Sorry, but there it is. I do believe in innocent until proven guilty, but it would serve the students and community members well to reserve such outspoken support until they hear all of the evidence. They will be the ones with egg on their faces, at the minimum. Were it me, I would ostracize them all forever. After all, football is only a game and how can anyone insinuate that a coach is more important than the crime of child molestation, which is more than a despicable act?

It doesn't come as a surprise to me. Look at all the liberals who rallied to that child molesting director. I can't remember his name right off (like he matters anyway), but I think (goodness I hope) he's still not allowed to enter the country. If I remember correctly, Whoopi Goldberg showed what an idiot she was by supporting him, saying that it was "consensual sex".... but deliberately avoided adding the rest: "WITH A MINOR!!!" I am SO glad my kids aren't going to Penn, because clearly they aren't getting the education that they should be getting since they ignorantly rioted over it, knowing full well the accusation is child molestation. No educated person in their right mind would disagree with the firing nor arrest.

Big Government : Do Teachers Really Believe They're Paid to Preach Political Views to Kids?

Funny this should come up at this moment. My son is home for the weekend for Veteran's day. He said his professor, during lecture, was gloating over Perry's flub and said, "Well that will make it so much easier for us (she was speaking of Obama) to win!" I thought their jobs were to teach, not preach.

Wait. What? Sean believes that "caring capitalism can make a difference." Does he now? That's really strange because I thought that the Occupy movement was against capitalism. I have to laugh at his idiotic "caring capitalism" comment. Ben & Jerry's is trying to compete with other corporations, right? If Sean is so "caring," then why not share his recipes so we all can make money off of it? That's only fair! Why should they be the only ones to make money? The nerve! Obama would be so displeased with him. He's a jerk, just like all of them down there.

Big Journalism : Who Leaked What? Is Perry Guilty? Is Cain? The Media? Does It Matter?

Here's the thing: we cannot allow this issue tear conservatives apart. Let's face it, our arguing amongst ourselves is lowering us to Democrat standards. I'm willing to bet that some liberals are responsible for this mess. Feeding into one another is a bad choice. Our end goal is to rid ourselves from Obama's nightmare and get a conservative in office. Rather than finger pointing they need to get past this and get back to the issues.

Big Government : ACORN Scrambling after #Occupy Organizing Exposed

Can someone please explain to me how come ACORN still even has one single office, much less the number they still have? Shouldn't the execs be in prison and the company, if you can even call it that, closed down? I fully support free speech, but the dirty dealings that ACORN repeatedly involves itself in is anything but "speech." Has anyone checked their accounts? I'm willing to bet there's been quite a bit of embezzlement too. If I lived there, I'd love to apply for a job just so I could out them. Maybe James O'Keefe could find someone to do that next.

Big Government : Wednesday Open Thread: Cain Edition

I like Cain. I also liked Clarence Thomas, who by the way got the job - in case anyone has forgotten and judging from the comments, some have. Relationship or not it takes two to tango. I do have strong moral standards, but each incident needs to be weighed individually. Sometimes, the situations are not actually black and white, but a bit gray. In the end, no one candidate is 100% perfect. We have to just pick the best one and go with it. I think Cain is as next to perfect as most, but I like what he's saying. He (so far) has my vote.

Big Government : A Textbook Case of Government Waste and Stupidity

This isn't the entire picture. Public schools and their profit margins are lower for reasons other than pay. Surely you jest when you insinuate that this is the only reason. When you go to the store to buy beer, wine, meat, etc. you can buy quality that is more expensive, or you can buy cheap which lacks flavor. It's appears to be the same but there is a reason the expensive stuff is expensive. If I had the chance to hire a grad from Harvard (which your beloved Al Gore attended) or one with the same degree from Bishop State in Mobile, Alabama, I wonder which I would prefer to hire? Not surprisingly, you missed the entire point. The idea here is that public schools do the same thing about buying textbooks as for profit schools. Yet no one wants to police them. Bishop State, I might add, lost accreditation due to financial aid fraud. It was lucky they were even caught... but only because the staff, just as you would expect from an institution like it, was stupid.

Big Government : Bummer Summer: Left Now Complaining about Obama

The problem here is that this is exactly what one would expect of any liberal. The liberal playbook has this important rule: Never EVER appreciate any concession anyone has ever made to anyone, for anything, at anytime. Complaining is key here. It doesn't matter if there is no law to support what liberals want, nor if things are fair and equal for everyone concerned. Complaining is all that matters! Whether they are Democrat or not matters not. Complaining must never stop even if its within their own party. Liberals are never happy. You give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Obama was such a poster boy, but really what they thought was that he was just a wimpy pushover. They thought that he would do what they wanted him to do and now that he's done just that, they're not happy and complaining. Liberals are greedy, diseased, parasites that eat away at anything good, American and just. They are America haters, they are terrorists themselves (remember the hate bottles being thrown at the "mostly peaceful" demonstration of theirs?) and they only want to use the poor to put money in their own pockets. Parasites.
