Matt Dillon, Ryan Phillipe, Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser, Billy Fitchner all were underhanded or intentionally covering something up for their own gain. Even though Ludicris and Tate's characters commit some 'evil acts', in the end the redeem themselves. Friggin' Ryan Phillipe's character was a good person with some insecurities, and he is somehow "expertly written" to be stupid enough to pick up a hitchhiker and shoot him like it was some wacky horror movie in the Midwest.
