Whitney, what they scan is the film not the prints...that way they get the full resolution of the scanned image...so if you still have the developed film from that trip to Australia then you can still get the images scanned...and film, if stored correctly, will last a long time...

I didn't really write the code above, I was searching for a method to place a slideshow on my site's header and found the code on this post that would allow for that using the NextGen gallery.
The code on the forum needed a fix because it was relatively outdated. Now I'm no expert on PHP or JS but this is the code that worked for Wordpress.
Basically it's a copy paste with a couple of changes in the code.
