ah, yes, that complacency is like intoxication...so true. and another thing i have to remind myself of...while i do read and meditate on His word daily, that doesn't take the place of daily prayer. All of it is critical.

I have my share of both...healthy and unhealthy examples to follow. My big fight is that often times I too don't want to feel the weight. I just want to be off into my own world...no responsibility, if only for a moment, an hour or even one day {or week...or month ...lol}. For those feelings I simply ask God to makeover my heart. But for the good examples, I pray that those seeds fall on fertile soil.

We make time for what we truly want to do. We spend time with those we love. I make myself spend time with God, especially first thing in the morning and just before bed. When I wake up, yes my mind automatically goes straight to tasks and to-do's of the day. But I intentionally re-route my thoughts to His sovereignty, His gift of life to me, etc. Then I spend time with Him {in His word}, no matter what "important" thing looms on my schedule. Spending time with God first thing in the morning then whenever throughout the day--in His word, serving others when I don't want to, etc.--is how I strive to show Him I love Him.
