The lesson plan was rejected due to it not being politicaly correct. I found that some of the minority members of the department had converted to Islam, so the department did not want to offend them. The other problem with some of the larger Police Departments is that some of the higher ranking officers have political aspirations and this is considered a political hot potato. While Muhammed was alive they would write down what was said on whatever object was on hand. Also some of his followers would commit to memory some of his sayings. After his death they decided to put the Koran together but had lost quite a bit of the written material. So they went to those who had commited his sayings to memory. There had to be a consensous in order to be included in the Koran. Quite a bit of his teachings were lost so never included. Also the Caliph Abu Bakar was the final judge destroying all the other Korans that he did not agree with. In fact one alternate Koran was found quite a few years ago while repairing a Mosque in the middle east. The Atlantic ran the story about 8 or 9 years ago. Worth searching for. I am a product of the 60's and a comic collector since '64. When I was a kid trying to decide what to buy, one thing made it easy, Kirby. Kirby was Marvel back then to many of us. I followed Kirby to DC when he started his fourth World. The ideas that we saw at Marvel were there, but the words weren't. Whereas the magic was gone at Marvel during that time period. After the Fourth World series failed, you could tell that Kirby was done. He returned to Marvel but it wasn't the same. Lee to me was the wordsmith while Kirby was the idea man. What an imagination, they worked well together. Kirby deserved better then he got from Marvel.
