Big Hollywood : 2012 Golden Globes Open Thread

It might take some time...but point taken. I know artists. They are mostly a \"bit\" off center. Actors especially are very insecure and tend to fall in with the herd. And you know-- the insecure go to momma (or daddy)--liberal big government.

Sent from my iPad

Conservatives need to make better films...good films, than liberals. It's no more complicated than that. I think we'll get there, if we don't lose ambition.

Jean Dujardin was very good in the Artist. Not a great year in film, but some very good performances. Dujardin was one of the best. HFP...the fix is in.

I enjoyed Battle LA. inside me is a 15-year old boy... And yes, Cowboys and Aliens stunk, despite the cast and director. A real shame.

I had a problem with the Debt: the IDF never botched anything like is depicted. It's a work of fantasy/what if. Okay , I guess... Moneyball was good, but I am so old-school that I still think of baseball as a sport, and not a business. Moneyball changes all that. I am not that cynical, I guess. And the Trip was zzzzz. 2012 will be better, hopefully.

Good list, but since this is just a matter of opinion, I have to disagree. It wasn't a great year for films. The Woody Allen flick was good...one of his best...but not great. It may win something by default. Also, the Descendents was depressing and Clooney can't act. Again, he may win, but not because he's such a wonderful actor. He got very good support and he needed it. Drive was surprisingly good. Not best-film worthy, but very good. Going to see The Artist tonight. So far my favorites for the year have been My Week with Marilyn and The Help. No nasty politics and generally uplifting.
