right! how injured are guys if you can just insert them on your depth chart?

bring those guys back when the season's over. otherwise? IR guys need to be on the shelf...PERIOD.

although we should get weekly updates for injuries, trades, depth charts and number changes....oh! and injuries! guys that are on IR need to be removed from the depth chart!

how about have some basic sentence structure BEFORE you hit "reply" smarty. and how about NO....updating transactions like trades, injuries, number changes and depth charts should be every week..ratings changes every FOUR. you can't tell anything in a week...

tell me something GENIUS, should we drop miles austin 6 points next week when he has one catch? because that makes about as much sense as raising his overall 6 points after a big game against 1 win Kansas City...

i'm working on a ratings article for Operation Sports AS WE SPEAK highlighting some of the many issues we're talking about...feel free to send me more examples of guys who are OVERRATED and UNDERRATED guys...thanks!

not a bad idea...in a perfect world we'd have one per team...thats alot of manpower tho. one per division may be more realistic.

sigh...for the last time...rating players every week is LUDICROUS...what else can you do but look at meaningless highlights? it reeks of "one-hit-wonder-flash-in-the-pan-ism".... every 4 weeks should be the minimum.

please keep in mind that we don't want a game where players are rated too high like before...and this is EXACTLY where we're getting back to with players progressing too quickly and rating people on "empty" stats...giving people significant upgrades in games they put up numbers because the defenses are playing lax because they're up 20 and they LOSE just doesn't make sense, and neither does giving offensive players upgrades for numbers they put up against teams like tampa, tennesee and KC.

we need to be looking at a body of work...not saying "golly gee willikers..my favorite player ran for 100 yards..he needs to be a 90." like some rookie FANBOY.

a perfect example is jeremy maclin...he had a big game right before the 3rd update and this good timing progressed him two points. his game: 6 catches for 143 yards and 2 TDs (please keep in mind this was against TAMPA) his other games? zero catches at carolina, 2 catches for 12 yards against the Saints, and 4 catches for 33 yards against KC. Oops! I almost forgot his 1 catch for 6 yards last week. Sooo? those look like the stats of someone who's started the game rated a 77 and went up two points to a 79? PROBABLY NOT.

looks to me like mr. maclin was (like alot of rookies) rated too high to begin with and should be in the 70-72 range right now.

he's not alone...miles austin went up like 6 points, why? his numbers are worse...1 catch for 42 yards against TAMPA, 1 catch for 20 yards .vs. NY, zero catches at carolina, and 3 catches for 19 yards against DEVER. what logic is there in giving a guy 6 points for a big game (10 catches for 250 yards against Kansas City...not exactly a good defense) the average progression should be 1 point and 2 at the most! Lest we run into a game where 3rd string receivers are rated an 85 like before! isn't this what we're trying to get AWAY from? rate austin like the 3rd strign guy he is a 68 at best.

we need a roster guru who knows the game and can look INTO the stats...and give us comprehensive ratings that include the ENTIRE league. not some tool who looks at highlights of big games, listens to ESPN talking heads and bases ratings on very little...my little brother can do that..

Revis a 96 after two weeks? are u serious pasta? he's essentially validated his 91. and while he should get a ratings bump if his plays continues through the quarter-pole, a 96 just seems a little high. ratings every 4 weeks. PLEASE EA.

errrr.....ratings up after one week? this thread reads like a HOMER convention...so-an-so that plays for my favorite team should go up because he blocked this guy on this one play, or made this catch or had this great tackle...WHAAAT? I COMPLETELY DISAGREE...while numbers, injuries and roster changes should update. we should see ratings updated at each quarter of the season. the NFL season is a marathon....not a sprint. you don't get ratings boosts for one week...we need atleast 4 games of performance before we start that mess.

DEAL BREAKER: the lakers are a good defensive team with two Seven footers who block (or change) alot of shots...and one of the most non-aggressive would-rather-shoot-a-jumper-than-go-to-the-hole-any-day players in the league (rashard lewis) goes to hole and dunks in traffic and bynum never even takes a step towards him?

as far as sports games go overall. again, i respectfully disagree. 2K is far and away the next-gen sports leader...you don't like the game...and i can respect your opinion (no matter how delusional and out-of-touch) but here's the thing: that's not just MY opinion. every reviewer and the overwhelming majority of the virtual hoops playing consumers can't be wrong....but then again--maybe you're just smarter than we are...

I give Live its props where it's deserved (play-calling and play-sets) but it's not even close...TRUST.

have you seen The Czar's breakdown of 2K/Live? you really should check it out...while he goes for funny and witty, he does a really good job of being objective and forthright as well.
