all in all it lived up to the hype, which is a rare thing to pull off. some of the shakey cam action scenes might make people sick to their stomaches but it's not as bad as any of the Bourne movies. it had the right amount of camp, and it didn't step on the toes of the cannon of the star trek saga. one thing i did find out of place but completely able to be overlooked was the faithful character portrayals of the original main characters except for Kirk. but like i said, it's acceptable
